After Twilight brings a Saddle Arabian artifact to the Ponyville library, Nyx becomes too curious for her own good. After jumping in she finds herself in the pony version of Purgatory. There she meets the tortured soul of Snowdrop. Nyx tries to comfort Snowdrop and become her friend after over 1000 years of isolation. But with all the challenges ahead will their relationship become more?

Midnight Storm, a Kirin who fled civilization after a lifetime of persecution, now lives in the Everfree Forest. She is content with living in the wild, the forest is filled with creatures to practice hunting and fighting with, and she doesn’t have to hide what she is for fear of ponies attacking her. She has made friends with Zecora, a zebra shaman and fellow outcast. But Midnight’s life takes an interesting turn when Zecora attempts to reintroduce her to pony society.

A cross between Past Sins by Pen Stroke and The Witching Hour by Chaotic Ink.

Nyx is learning magic and flying under the best tutors in Equestria, but something keeps going wrong with her magic. It is soon clear that a dark force is at work and all the alicorns in the ruling quadrature have to reconcile their own fractured relationships in pulling together to save Nyx and Equestria.

This fic takes place some time after the end of Past Sins, drawing upon the characters and relationships established by the excellent Pen Stroke.

Please note this short story is not a sequel, but a spin-off starring Nyx, the lovable alicorn filly adopted by Twilight Sparkle.

There is some ‘T’ rated gore in Chapter 6. Clear instructions are provided explaining how to skip past this passage for readers who do not wish to see it, and an ‘E’ rated summary is provided so that these readers do not miss out on the storyline.

Past Sins AU. What would happen if Nyx was found by some-pony other than Twilight Sparkle? Some-pony who did not have her best interests at heart-- like a certain Changeling Queen? Inspired by Glimpses, by Pen Stroke.

Tirek has won. As he escapes from his cell in Tartarus and wreaks havoc across Equestria, he has taken down the Princesses and has stolen all their magic from Twilight.
But during Tirek's victory... someone new shows up.

One year ago, the immortal moon lich died.

One year ago, Twilight Sparkle the so-called human moved to Ponyville.

Rarity never believed that, of course. The "human" bit. After all, no human would willingly choose to live in a town of monsters, and no amount of magic or hunting orders or Plans with a capital "P" would ever change her mind on that—especially when said human was so constantly collected and calm.

But... if she wasn't human, what kind of monster could she be?

On the day of the Summer Sun Celebration, Nightmare Moon returned from her banishment. The power she had accumulated during her stay on the moon proved to be too great for Princess Celestia, and Equestria's ruler was defeated.

Weeks later, Anon arrived in Equestria via unknown means. Although lost and confused, his natural resistance to magic made him quite useful to Nightmare Moon. To his surprise, he quickly became one of her most trusted servants and found himself falling in love with her. Even more surprisingly, it seemed like she was doing the same.

Eventually, despite Anon's best efforts, Nightmare Moon was defeated and Princess Luna returned. Everyone was rejoicing. Everyone... except him. Because Anon did not fall in love with Princess Luna.

Anon fell in love with Nightmare Moon.

Princess Twilight, for all of her knowledge, didn't particularly know that much about Celestia or Luna's past. In an attempt to figure out more about her peers she digs up the infamous time travel spell. Jumping at the chance to gather first-hoof about the only other immortal ponies she dives head first into the past!

Finding that she has stumbled into helping the Princesses on a mighty quest she isn't hesitant to lend a helping hoof but her resolve is quickly tested when not all is what it seems and the past, and present, of Equestria is put at stake!

Follow Twilight, and the would-be Princesses, across the world as they track down dangerous artefacts, delve into dilapidated dungeons and avoid disaster in a race against time itself!

• Romance will, eventually, be between Luna, Celestia and Twilight.
• This story will include gratuitous amounts of cuteness at times.
• There will be action and a little dark here and there, but only because it's the past and fighting does occur. It won't be a regular thing, trust me.
• There is time travel and Twilight will be jumping around the timeline. But don't think about it too much!
• The AU tag is only there due to the Princesses still being there, as well as the whole world existing before Equestria thing.
• The world this story takes place in is: Equestria and Beyond. I absolutely love the detail which was put into this. Obviously there's parts not included, such as the Crystal Empire, etc.

Ordinarily, Princess Twilight Sparkle is more than willing to welcome newcomers to Equestria, regardless of what type of creature they are or where they come from. However, she might soon find that even she has a limit as she is forced to confront the arrival of the greatest menace known to man: the British.

Like, all of them.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder comes out tonight, and Luna intends to be the first pony in line to get it. Of course, she isn't going to wait alone. That'd be stupid. And who better to drag to GameStop with her than Anon, the guy with absolutely nothing better to do?
