A bit of silliness that I wrote in about four hours, trying to get rid of a writers block.

Shining Armor has everything - the wife, the house, the life. So when he rolls over to find the creature that crashed his wedding and nearly wrecked his chance at happiness snuggled oh-so-sweetly at his side, with his darling Cadance at his other, it's all he can do to keep it together and try to assemble the missing pieces.

Poor little Spike. Time and time again he's heard vicious arguments between Twilight and Trixie, but now he finally sees it, first claw, and can't take it anymore- he pours his heart out to Applejack.

Pinkie Pie, reality's "Blind Spot." Capable of impossible things, things that nopony would understand. That is, if they ever tried. Everypony gave up on figuring her out a long time ago, including Equestria's most notorious scholar, Twilight Sparkle.

Enter Discord. He senses something that should be impossible, even for him, and traces it back to Pinkie Pie. Then he does what he should have done back when he was first freed from stone.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders are a curious bunch of fillies. That curiosity leads them to learn more about the strange realm where Clip, the friendly eldritch abomination, came from. And that leads them into an adventure to save their mentors (and Discord) from the clutches of the horrific creatures that dwell outside our reality.

When logic and reasoning fail to make a dent in her phobia of snakes, Twilight turns to the one pony who knows more about fear than anypony alive. Fortunately she's happy to help. Unfortunately, Discord is also happy to help in his own way. Now Fluttershy is caught in between a unicorn more frightened than herself and a draconequus all too willing to make things worse.

Failing once in her attempt to take Canterlot and failing again in her attempt to take down Twilight, one would think Chrysalis would have cut her losses and let things be, but the queen has once again appeared, this time in broad daylight with no disguise and no army. Her weapon of choice? Diplomacy.

Now Twilight is having to deal with the changeling queen, but surely putting up with her antics will be worth the knowledge she's willing to provide about her mysterious race and the potential undiscovered agents still within their midst...right?

Takes place before Magical Mystery Cure and diverges from there.
