Celestia gives Twilight Sparkle her very own kingdom. But, it's not quite what Twilight expects. Her kingdom is much too small, the lines are too long, the food costs too much... oh, and it's a theme park.

The Cakes move cross-country to franchise Sugarcube Corner in Tall Tale. Teenage Pound and Pumpkin's new school is full of bullies, their new city is full of crime, and oh yeah, they've also discovered a changeling conspiracy to enslave ponykind. The changelings are much craftier now than when they mysteriously vanished sixteen years ago. They can now copy ponies' very memory and behavior, and they've infiltrated every major Equestrian institution. Anypony could be a secret changeling, so Pound and Pumpkin can't trust the police, princesses, or even their own parents. They must stop the threat alone.

Equestria and Yakyakistan are friends for a thousand moons thanks to the ingenious efforts of Pinkie Pie. However, Twilight still feels guilty about letting everything get out of control like she did. During the party, she approaches Princess Celestia and Prince Rutherford to issue her heartfelt apology in private. But as she soon discovers, she's not the only one who needs to brush up on her diplomacy.

In the wake of Pinkie Pie's fabulous party, Princess Celestia lets Twilight in on an imperative secret about yaks.

They're jerks.

Pinkie Pie was unable to turn things around and the Yaks refuse to become friends. Instead of friendship, Twilight has to put a stop to a new threat to her young kingdom before her friends and others are harmed.
But even if they are defeated, Twilight and the other princesses must consider whether it's possible for Equestria to coexist with such a dangerously xenophobic society.

As the friendship celebration between the ponies and yaks begins to settle, Prince Rutherford shocks all in attendance by proposing to Pinkie Pie.

When Twilight Sparkle was given an invitation to a special event hosted by Discord, she was more than a little apprehensive. However, despite her best judgement, she decided to attend for the sake of being a good friend for the reformed Draconequus.

However, when she arrives, she realizes two very big things that Discord has done for this "party"...

One: Twilight is the only pony here.
And Two: There are quesadillas everywhere.
