Before she knows it, she's telling her new acquaintance the tale of how she fell in love with magic, how her brother and the other Element Bearers helped her to rise up . . .

How did Celestia finally gain her cutie mark? What happened between Equestria's establishment and Celestia's enthronement? It's a bygone story forgotten by most of the ponies, lost in the dense fog of history. But there was a time that Equestria was not a paradise of friendship and harmony. A time when our characters struggled for an uncertain future in the mire of reality. It was an epoch of upheaval, when a prisoner can be royalty, and a princess can be a scourge.

Houses worn down by ages of sorrow, a forest as black as ink, and a crumbling castle looming on the mountain's peak. These are what a pony first sees when arriving at Coltislava. No pony ever gets on the train with the intent of getting off. Sweetie Drops will be the first, and as she goes undercover to find a colt that vanished in the night, she'll discover why no pony ever visits, or leaves, Coltislava.

He's got nowhere to go or return to, but he can't stay where he is. For long at least. His presence is enough to bring disaster to himself and those around him, so this apologetic nomad of devastation and misfortune wanders around aimlessly.

They came down from the stars in boats made of iron and steel. They descended onto the planet and freed it from the greed and tyranny of its reagent.

The ponies called them heroes. They call themselves Decepticons.

But whatever they are, they've done their best to improve life for the people of Equestria. To bring them out of poverty and slavery, to bring them out of fear and despair. When Queen Celestia returns, she can't abide, so she decides it's time to remind the ponies of the status quo ... whatever it takes, even if it means terminating the Decepticon leader.
