Prior to the events of "A Canterlot Wedding" Princess Celestia asks Cadance what ought to be done with the changelings that have been discovered living hidden in Equestria. Celestia has never heard Cadance speak an ill word of anyone, and she cannot fathom why the young princess seems to so despise the uncovered changelings.

Teaming up with the lion next-in-line to rule, she lends her aid and secures the throne for him.

But what other magic dwells in these strange lands, and what place is there for an alicorn cast out of her world? What magic might the Elements of Harmony have actually set into motion here?

Twilight Sparkle, Applejack and Rainbow Dash must venture into the depths of the untamed Everfree forest, further than ever before, and find the source of these natural disasters... and in so doing, they uncover a being that is beyond all natural law.

Set in the early days of the mane six's friendship, before discord's redemption, and before the King of Shadows or the Queen of Lies were struck down. Don't let the cutesy prologue fool you... this story is a bleak and foreboding glimpse at a fragment of Equestria's ancient history. The story is complete, and chapters will be released every one or two days.

For Twilight, being the Princess of Friendship gets overwhelming sometimes – there are simply too many royal duties she must attend! She just can't seem to shake a feeling of exhaustion. Things used to be so much simpler.

One cold morning, a small grey filly crested the low hill at the edge of her family's farm, sneering down at the smoky swamp below as she sucked furiously on a squeaky yellow pacifier.

She was just old enough to understand that the arrival of her little sister Maud made her the "big girl" now... and she didn't like that one bit. Even worse, she'd heard mommy and daddy whisper that another was on the way.

But down there, in the swamp, was the means to end this madness. All she needed was to grit her teeth, toddle forward, and take it.
