Chrysalis is angry. Enraged at the ponies for somehow overcoming her in her hour of victory. She is hurt badly, but alive.

But as time passes, her mind begins changing. She starts thinking, and gains a new perspective on herself, her actions, her life, and her swarm.

While the Changeling hive is recovering from a near disaster, King Sleight discovers that Chrysalis has been keeping a big secret from him. A secret that is coming right to their door, offering to mend old wounds.

The war was over and done with. No pony seemed to realize that there was very little preventing the Changelings from attacking once more. However, immediately after her defeat, Chrysalis finds out exactly why it would be unwise to attempt another invasion of Equestria.

Staghorn is Chrysalis's second youngest child (don't let that description fool you, he has a wife and two kids about the same age as Applebloom) and is next in line for the throne. he is as smart as a whip and he has a big heart. so it's no surprise that when his mother comes home, he has a plan. a crazy, insane Plan. But is Peace really an option?

The Changelings are scattered and weakened in the wake of the aftermath for the Battle of Canterlot. Now, even Chrysalis, the Changeling Queen is surrounded by her enemies, and continues to struggle to survive in disguise. Yet among the ruins of defeat and animosity, love blooms when it's least expected.

Yet others worry that such open acceptance leaves Equestria vulnerable to less well-intentioned changelings. And some still fear the insectoid creatures, memories of invasions--and more personal attacks--still strong in their minds.

Queen Chrysalis has only one grub that has survived into fillyhood; her daughter, the physically lame and mentally impaired Crown Princess Pupa. Chrysalis has never been what many would call the 'maternal type', even towards Pupa, whose adoration of her mother has no bounds. Preferring to swamp herself in the dire affairs of state, Chrysalis lets her crippled daughter be raised by her affectionate nanny.

Chrysalis didn't invade Canterlot in a bid to take over Equestria. She attacked the city because she had nowhere else to run.

Now, imprisoned for her crimes deep under Canterlot Castle, she can sense the nightmare she fought so hard to escape from drawing ever closer. Soon, it will cross the Equestrian border and lay waste to Celestia's domain.

She must warn Celestia, before it's too late.
