After a hard day of working, Rainbow Dash has a conversation with Tank. She complains about being a hard working pony and how she wishes she could be a pet like him. During the conversation her mind begins to fantasize the sweet life of an owned pony and acts on it.

When Fluttershy is being given total control of another pony's life she doesn't know how to properly deal with such a responsibility. She slowly learns that having a pony you know as a pet isn't all that great.

Fluttershy remembers the kisses she'd shared over her lifetime, reflecting on the different circumstances and how she'd grown as a pony.

Osiris finds an injured filly Fluttershy on his way home from his military college. He takes her to his home and fixes her up, and decides that it would be better for her to stay with him while she grows into a mare, but in this twist on the "My Little Dashie" fan fiction, Osiris, doesn't have any clue what Mlp is until he takes Fluttershy home.

Fluttershy, feeling that motherly need, secures herself a mail order orphan. Will she be up for the challenge of mothering one of Equestria's most unique creatures that defies classification or description? Will her friends be there for her as they always have? And what about Discord, Fluttershy's long time friend and the one indirectly responsible for all of this confusion... Will he find something that he wasn't aware he was looking for? Will Spike finally find somebody he can relate to? All of this and more...

An important note. The stories in the sidebar all tie in with this story, providing background elements and filling in characters and settings. Reading those will cause a number of things to make a lot more sense.

This is mostly going to be a slice of life story, with elements of fitting in, finding your place in the world, and the need for unconditional positive regard.

This takes place in an alternate verse, at some point in the near future. It is going to start out rated "E" for everyone, but might get some interesting humour in there later, which may require a "T" rating. We'll see. Tags will be added as the story progresses.

This story is a sequel to Destinies

After years of pain and turmoil, Fluttershy's sister Summer Rain brings needed change to her life after reading a careful record of the experiences in friendship between Twilight Sparkle and her friends. Realizing that many other ponies across Equestria could benefit from these lessons and the "Magic of Friendship", Summer heads to Ponyville to talk to the new princess about this, hoping to find a way to help other ponies enjoy this gem. Summer Rain's experiences in friendship expand amazingly from this humble start.

Twilight, recalling how her friends' cutie marks and destined got switched, ponders what happens if they were successful. Using her friends' DNA and magic, the princess made lookalikes that are inspired by the rest of the Mane 6 when their cutie marks and personalities were switched, only successful. But Twilight ended up making a double of herself as well.

Celestia had always thought she'd reached the pinnacle of fear when she fought against some of Equestria's greatest enemies.

As it turns out, however, nothing compares to explaining to Twilight's parents that she's in a relationship with their daughter.
