After 989 years on the moon, Nightmare Moon is eagerly awaiting her return to Equestria, take down her sister, and claim what should rightfully be hers.

However, one can only brood and plan for so long before things grow... stagnant.

And then, something catches her eye, coming towards her moon's surface at an alarming speed. Maybe this, whatever it is, will prove to aid her in her plans.

[Sex] tag for implications, nothing explicit (obviously it's rated T guys yeesh).

----------

Story was written for Jinglemas 2021 as a gift for PeerImagination. They wanted a Nightmare Moon and Human romance, and I hope I did good by ya! Apologies for the story length, but it got waaaay out of hand on me and I have a disease where if I'm writing something I'm liking then I tend to do more than I should.

Pre-read and edited by the wonderful Pascoite who helped a ton with the olden speech, and Fregz for putting up with the initial storyboarding that went out of control.

In a land of eternal night, a brave band of heroes stood against Nightmare Moon to return the Sun to their world. In a desperate bid for victory, they broke an ancient spell to pull six legendary heroes out of Limbo so that they could do battle with the Night Tyrant.

This is not the story of that battle.

It is the story of the monster that returned with the heroes - and how it found love.

More than 1000 years ago, something catastrophic happened that would change the course of Equestrian history forever. A young Princess, angered by injustices committed against her, will give in to her jealousy and rage and be transformed into a Nightmare.

This is a tale you will not find in any history books. This is a tale of betrayal, sorrow, and so much bloodshed. The unsetting moon was not a singular event. It was a war. An ashamed Princess Celestia had censored and altered the tale so that, whenever her sister did return, she would not immediately be hated.

This, however, is the true story of Nightmare Moon.

“On the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape.”

Celestia was prepared to face Nightmare Moon in battle.

What she wasn't prepared for was to face her in a hospital bed.

Can be read both as a standalone and as a spiritual semi-sequel to “The Nightmare Crumples” by Eruantalon. Cover image courtesy of FluffyMixer, used with permission. Now has a Russian translation!

Caution: Story may contain cheese, overly dramatic moments, and a happy ending despite the 'sad' tag.

Anon likes his life to be simple. He wakes up, goes to work and sometimes gets himself a good book to read while he is home. It's a routine that he likes to follow, it makes him feel like he has a bit of normality with his life in Equestria. The fact that having Celestia come crashing into his home as part of his routine should prove that his life is anything but normal.

This is the first of the Moonlight's Redemption series, written by Hope.

Set 1000 years before the show, Princess Luna tells the story of Prim Rose, a young unicorn from a farming community near the coast. To escape from the pain of recently losing her sister, and to try finding some direction in her life, Prim travels all the way to Everfree City and the castle of the Two Sisters, looking for a job. She ends up meaning more to Princess Luna than she could have ever guessed.

This story was written half as MLP fanfiction, and half a love-letter-like story that I wrote for my wife, to bring her some comfort on lonely days.
This story was in part inspired by a story I deleted called Redemption in Moonlight.

Content warnings:
death and dismemberment (not described in detail), assassination attempt, witnessing someone bleed out, assisted suicide, Suffocation (non fatal), self harm, familial death and sickness, memory loss (aging related), homophobia, impersonation of a loved one, confused sexuality.
