A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Midnight Sparkle has left a lot behind in her quest for the secrets of power, beyond the constraints of the Jedi Order she once served. She has answered the call of the dark, and in doing so, abandoned her old identity and purged her old connections with painful finality.

Yet as she seeks the knowledge of a powerful Jedi holocron that once lay outside her reach, she's confronted by a face she never thought she'd see again...

For those familiar with Star Wars (the story does not require more than a basic knowledge of series lore), this story takes place at an unspecified point in the galaxy's history, and features some creative departures with the canonical depiction of Jedi holocrons.

Second place winner of the Sunset x Villains Sci-Fi Shipping Contest. Also an entry into A Thousand Worlds Contest II. Pre-read by The Sleepless Beholder and Dewdrops on the Grass.

Featured on 7/28/23-7/29/23!

For most people, BitHub is just a version-control service, used to share and track changes in code.

For this and many other reasons, Twilight Sparkle is not most people.

A highly experimental entry and second place co-winner in Bicyclette's Twilight Files contest. Rated Teen for implications that would not get past Discovery Family S&P.

Everyone has to sleep eventually—everyone, which means that at some point Sunset's new roommate is going to have to stop messing around with her computer and go to bed. But somehow the one-and-only Twilight Sparkle doesn't need to obey the laws of the universe, and therefore she might just be the one-and-only person who never sleeps.

Written for EaW's 6th Writing Contest

The flames of conflict in Kiria may be extinguished, but what happens after the ash has settled?

That was a question that was left for kirins like Skywell to answer. Three years after the Realm's victory in the Kirian Civil War, the young officer-turned-architect is sent on his first major project in the former rebel city of Chrysanthemum. The project is a simple one: reconstruct several smoldering city blocks that could truly represent the new embers of modernity that Kiria is taking. The project is almost prepared for groundbreaking and the bulldozers are revved up.

That is, until a petitioner arrived in Skywell's office.

Twilight Sparkle, shocked with missing thinking
Sees a thing which did, just now, efface
Itself from all memory and meaning
But just how long has she been in this place?

Pseudo-experimental literary faffery; a vaguely Gödel, Escher, Bach influenced E-rated horror story in the round.

Created for the Thousand Words II contest in the "Horror" category.

Sunset Shimmer hates the magicless world of mutant apes she's been trapped in for the last four moons, but at least she's making some progress on improving her situation. Now if only the short-sighted fools surrounding her would stop getting in her way, she could show them. She'd show them all!

Note that this particular Sunset has yet to encounter the concept of the "mad scientist." Not until later today, anyway.

An entry in the Science Fiction Contest II and the Spring Fling. Thanks to EileenSaysHi for the original idea (which, full disclosure, was proposed in January, before the Spring Fling was announced.) Rated Teen for the occasional discussion topic that goes outside the scope of TV-Y.

Chapters (1)

Sunset Shimmer had good grades, mostly good manners, and, at the risk of Flash tooting his own horn, a pretty good boyfriend.

After all, you wouldn't kiss someone you don't like.

A study of relationship.

Written for the Spring Fling Contest, where it won third place.

Tagged sex for references and implications; nothing explicit occurs onscreen. Content warning for underage drinking.
