Rainbow Dash's life is pretty sweet right now. She's a full-fledged Wonderbolt, she has a hot coltfriend, and all the fame, fortune, and glory that she could dream of. Yes, Dash is living the dream, all thanks to her being the most awesome mare in Equestria.

However, while on a date with said hot coltfriend, Rainbow Dash learns that there are drawbacks to being so awesome.

That rarely seen kind of person who, even in their early years, gives off the impression that they are destined for a moderately successful career in middle management at some cold, gray corporation.

Following Fluttershy in first person though all the confusing and scary feelings of first coming out as transgender, all of her friends react to her coming out in different ways. Frankly, she doesn't know which reaction is the worst to deal with and she knows it will take a miracle for her friends to understand her. Who will stay by her side, and who will refuse Fluttershy's new identity?

This is the story of Fluttershy as a transgender colt (in human terms, female to male). For those that don't know, transgender is used to describe someone who doesn't identify with the gender they were assigned at birth

THIS IS NOT A HIE. *also the Anthro is because I found it hard to write fighting scenes with normal ponies* Swift storm lives in a world with no magic and only earth-ponies exist. Trouble finds him and ends up being whisked away to a world where magic does exist he learns who he really is and what he will have to do to protect himself and his new found friends.

Fluttershy comes out to the rest of the bearers of the Elements as a trans mare. This story follows what happens next: with her, with the mare she's fallen in love with, with the Mane Six, and with respect to their friendship.

This was (and remains, for that matter) my first fic, and was an attempt to apply concepts of transgender identity to Equestria. I felt like a world as accepting of, well, everything as Equestria tends to be would be a fascinating place to explore identity. I hope it worked!

(I wrote this before reading Dash's Secret (by Hopefox), but if you enjoyed this story, I can't recommend Dash's Secret highly enough. It engages with some of the same issues, but is (IMHO) better written than mine. http://www.fimfiction.net/story/1876/Dash%27s-Secret)

A note: "trans mare" refers to somepony assigned male at birth and raised as a colt who comes to identify as a mare later in life. I'm following human usage here.

Twilight asks Rainbow Dash for advice on how to catch the eye of Flash Sentry. It goes about as well as you'd expect.

The stresses of being Equestria's newest Princess are starting to catch up with poor Twilight Sparkle. Recently she's barely even gotten to spend time with her friends! It's just meeting after meeting with snobby nobles and arrogant diplomats.

She needs a vacation. A place to get away where nopony can bug her for a few days. And she knows just where to go, to visit her friends in the mirror world!

But how will she react when she arrives to meet... Twilight Sparkle? And she's kissing Rainbow Dash?! WHAT IN THE HAY IS GOING ON?!
