On a field trip to Everfree, Twilight plans to relax with her friends, but very soon she learns of a troubled old love story in which she takes a particular interest. She will also meet a disabled boy with whom she will talk and who will change the way she sees one of her friends trying to put an end to a past mistake.

And in Rainbow Dash fashion, she didn't even question anything, and they cleaned up the spare room for the little colt.

Now, the morning of Hearthswarming, Rainbow is set on making it the best Hearthswarming yet, even if not all involved are immediately the most joyful.

What really awakened the corrupted spirit of Princess Luna, Nightmare Moon, during the Sunset Celebration? As Twilight Sparkle moves to Ponyville, her worst fears of the prophecy are made real, and the dark sorceress unleashes her curse. But the prophecy failed to mention that she would not rise alone. During her imprisonment on the Moon, the corrupted goddess had taken three young colts from Equestria, and raised them to learn her dark magic. And as she trains them to spread darkness across the realm, the boys begin to look upon Nightmare Moon as their loving guardian. It is these three colts who are the key to fulfilling their mother's wish; to live in disguise among the ponyfolk, and stop the Elements of Harmony from keeping back the beauty of eternal night.

There are many alternate universes.  Princess Twilight Sparkle found a number of them whilst she was duelling with Starlight Glimmer.  These alternative realities were perfectly genuine to those who lived in them.
This is a true story about an Equestria in which Queen Chrysalis had not been defeated when the Changeling Army invaded during the Royal Wedding at Canterlot.  Only a small group of free ponies is left to mount a Resistance.  The future does not look good, but a zebra has a plan.

Two humans who were trapped in Twilight's and Thunderlane's bodies have found a way to go back home after three months in Equestria. Rather than a story about their adventures in Ponyville, this a story about them finally leaving Ponyville.
