The Diplomat

Let's sit down, have a little talk, and find ways to be excellent to each other.

E

After a peculiar incident, the Doctor finds himself stranded in the kingdom of Equestria. As he tries to leave this colourful new world, he will discover creatures that aren't that different from him. Could the result of a freak accident be the start of something bigger?

The cover art is done by the good man Arby Works, and I'd like to thank my brother Wisher for his help. My first fanfic so don't be gentle, feel free to comment and I will reply.

REMEMBER that this story may change from time to time, but only in small ways unless I take another direction completely.

This looks interesting, I'll be waiting to see where it goes.

"Although it was a very difficult speel to master" Found an error! I quite like this, will read the next chapter when I have the time good sir!

2617628 The editor caught by the one he edits. Touché :rainbowwild:

I like where this is going

Argh. I like the Doctor (even the Matt Smith Doctor, provided Moffatt isn't writing), but the science here just hits me upside the brain. The only black holes that appear spontaneously are microscopic, too weak to swallow up even a speck of dust, let alone an entire star system. Normal black holes are produced by giant stars going supernova and collapsing in on themselves under gravity. There's a giant black hole at the center of most major galaxies we can observe, including our own.

And then: "The black hole had swallowed the entire galaxy, and had "chewed" the surrounding area, leaving a gargantuan hole where an entire solar system once existed." A solar system is MUCH smaller than an entire galaxy, since galaxies contain BILLIONS of solar systems. (This leaves aside how long it would take a black hole to suck up even a single solar system.)

Whatever it is obviously isn't a black hole, and the Doctor would know this on sight. It might be a wormhole, or an interdimensional portal of some kind, or it might just be a mysterious swirly thing in space, but not a black hole.

2619051 Yikes :twilightoops: I better start editing.

2618352:twilightblush: Yeah, now to read the other chapter!... eventually!

", and how all the civilisations he had visited"
Civilizations
2619051 maybe you should you look at a more probable event, millions of black holes appearing simultaneously due to distortions on truly massive stars caused by an unknown source of power. and as for the super black hole, quantum physics say it is possible, just so unlikely it still shouldn't be used here.

2619747 I'll think of something else then. And thanks for seeing that

woah, this is, nice, very, very nice writing and seems that Celestia is knowing more then anyone else about this.

Why do I have the feeling the Doctor visited Celestia during those thousand years or something?

All I can say is well done and keep up the good work.

sorry I did not read the chapter earlier, seems I am getting some things all mixed up in getting notificiations that new chapters are being updated.

Still good chapter and keep the great writing skills going.

2634173 Damn. My first praise. Thank you :pinkiehappy:
You're onto something but I won't say more than that :rainbowkiss:

I love it! It is a pretty good chapter and I will definitely keep watching to see where it goes! Until then, Allons-y!

My favorites messed up and didn't tell me you had put up a new chapter...

Alright, I have just one thing to say, one mistake in this entire chapter (aka, I am proud to call you my editor!), and that is, you missed the capitalization of 'Support' at one point (specifically the line: 'Life support took a few seconds to answer.'). Great chapter though, you brought out the doctor I know and love very nicely, can't wait to see what happens next!

I knew what the Doctor was aiming for. It was definitely a bit extreme, but most certainly Doctor like.

2935831 Desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess :twilightblush:

2935935 I know. The Doctor's always been extreme.

The Doctor smirked, then replied.
"Yes I do. I'm the Doctor."
The doctor looked at him, then snorted.
"No you're not; I am, you're the patient."
"Well actually I am the Doctor, but I'm not a doctor. Actually I have some doctorates, but I'm not a doctor of medicine and all that. So I'm the Doctor, not an official doctor, and I'm also a patient. So there you go, doctor."

this whole thing reminded me of this

Is this going to a Discorded Whooves story? Just asking.

3591126 Who knows? Who knows. :trollestia:

I haven't fully developed that yet, but it won't be a huge part of the story. So, to answer your question, not really no.
Is there a problem with Discorded Whooves?

3142282 I thought I had replied to this ?

Anyway, truth be told, I came up with the exchange way before I had seen this. Still fun though, thanks for showing me this :pinkiehappy:

I love the idea of all his old incarnations bouncing around in his head. No idea why. Maybe because every Doctor is brilliant and I'm glad to see them survive in some way.
Anyway, I wish Luna and the Doctor had stumbled upon the topic immortality and watching loved ones pass. Luna's "not an alicorn" comment feels really out of left field and I feel that this common ground would have made for a great base for the princess's affection.

3766724 Good point, but I'm one step ahead of you, that'll come up eventually. I just wanted them to have a quick meeting of sorts.

I finally got around to reading more of this! So well done, and psychologically, so well founded. Kudos on your ability good sir.

:yay: another well done chapter. Imho, it is quite nicely done. I understand your feeling it is missing something, but I certainly don't see it. Perhaps his reaction was a tad, unwarranted, but then again, it fits the character well. So, no complaints here.

For the War Doctor's TARDIS, I imagined the first TARDIS console room mixed with the interior of an old airplane hangar with some lockers and some trunks (and stuff).

While this is really cool, there is the official version from the show... :unsuresweetie:

Anyway, loved the chapter. Can't wait for the next one! :pinkiehappy:

3985668 True, but that TARDIS desktop was born from the three Doctors being together, and we don't know what it looked like during the war. And even so, I'm free to do whatever I want in my story :pinkiehappy:
I don't mean 'haha this is my story so I make the rules so fcuk you', I mean that these two fandoms are always changing and give a lot of creative freedom. So there

3985684
Fair enough. :moustache:
On another note, I did like the opening flashback to the Time War - it's quite hard to do that well and you pulled it off magnificently.

Pease update:fluttercry:

4189187 Christ, two months?! Time just flies by doesn't it?
I want to, but right now I'm in the middle of some exams and I've been lacking the motivation to write. Some of my exams end around the 15th of this month, so I'll complete the next chapter starting then.

Just as glorious as I remembered. Can't wait to see what happens next!

4527456 Glad to hear your opinion :rainbowkiss:
Oh and don't worry. With this first story, we're scratching the surface of big stuff right now :ajsmug:

4720504 I see you're on the right track so far, and I'm glad you enjoy it

4723772 Oh dear, now that won't do at all. I'll just bake a new chapter right now :moustache:

4771716 C'est très sympa de ta part

4907130 It's all in the author's notes in the last chapter

That's it?
Huh.

I kinda expected some sort of resolution to the plot threads, instead they just seem to be left hanging.

Like, what about the cotton candy? Or luna?

5917387 That's because there's gonna be sequel...some day :twilightblush:

I couldn't read further than this chapter, Celestia's foreknowledge ruined it.

8008286 Fair enough, thanks for making it that far :)
