What a brilliant piece of writing! Stygian really needs someone to open up to. He's so lonely.
I *hate* nitpicking a story as great as this, but the anatomy seemed inconsistent with this passage, seeing as it's the only section to mention hands.
Otherwise, this was positively incredible.

That was amazing. Very evocative and expressive; allowing us to truly enter Stygianʼs mind. Your prose and narration are lovely. And those descriptions are beautiful - special love to the way the flames are described.
Also, wouldnʼt be surprised if this was an actual extract from Stygianʼs own book series, Me and My Shadow. (Yes, he wrote a book. Itʼs canon; check S8ʼs “A Rock hoof and a Hard Place.”)
