wait. is he connected to the internet i thought i read an earlier chapter that athena fixed it.
if so is it possible that he has access to the recent mlp movie if not does he have it on his hardrive
Pinkie will understand the choices, but she’ll not be happy.
It is understandable to worry about someone who you just save. However, I still don't understand why he believed her injury was his fault. From what I saw, the mare illegally stayed at an abandoned house. The upper floor collapsed due to the old age and she got injured in the process. If anything, I would say she was lucky Jethro was there when it happened, otherwise she would die in that house without anyone knowing. So his self-guilt didn't make any sense to me.

Athena somehow downloaded the entire internet into a crystal. So Jethro has access to the internet as it was when he was first sent to Equestria.... Which, if you want to get meta, could include fim fiction.
Still loving the world building. So, a bit is worth a bit in real life. Neat.
It seems that Jethro has gotten over his fear of the "goddesses," especially in his astral form.
It's it weird that I'm actually more interested in the property he's going to buy/fix up than the mystery pony that almost killed herself squatting in an abandoned house? What's going to happen to Shady Acre? Is it really exactly one acre of land? What caused the recession? How much are the property taxes‽
Ok, I also want to know about the pegasus without a cutie mark. How did this pony survive for years in the house filled with asbestos without getting mesothelioma? What does she do all day?
So many new things in this chapter.
Hey I dont normally comment on incomplete stories but I wanted to say this is a very enjoyable HiE romp so far.
I really dig that so far to all appearances the protagonist is a fairly normal person. This is so...rare...in HiE. Usually the MC is a psychotic teen, an "anon", or someone that the author presents as normal but is so clearly mentally ill that you worry for the author.
Keep up the good work :D
I know this is late, but life's a right bitch, so I only just got around to reading this chapter. Anyway.
It actually wouldn't. You can't just say, "An apple on earth is 50 cents, and the same apple in Equestria is 2 bits, thus a bit is worth 25 cents." Things have a different value, depending where you are. For example, one lime in Virginia costs about 35 cents, but the same lime in Australia would cost around a dollar 25 US. That's because you can't grow limes in Australia, so they're imported. Also, the demand will be different in different regions.
It'd be nice to see them buy breakfast rather than hear about it.

That got me really curious. How do we determine the value of a currency compared to others anyway?
That's a very jarring bit of reading.
Where does Jethro's strange, unreasonable belief that he's in any way, shape or form responsible for this come from?
I also have to admit it's pretty strange that paying for a hospital visit is such a big deal? Equestrian healthcare working like America's healthcare system sounds extremely unlikely. There's seriously no support for the less fortunate, in the land of friendship, ruled by Celestia?
My suspension of disbelief is kinda straining over here. :/

gotta agree, his reaction was out of nowhere, but remember, the pegasus probably rarely sees the light of day, and judging from how gaunt and frail she is, and how she is living in an abandoned property on her own, i‘m guessing she is quite poor
“Don’t worry, a single exposure to asbestos is normally harmless,”
Ohohohohoh I beg to differ
I'm done. I can't keep reading this cringe. I might try again later this week, but probably not. I kept hoping it would get better but it didn't. Jethro is a weirdo that can't pick up on social queues and just keeps bowing and kneeling despite no one else doing it.
Also downvoted. I'm not a coward so I'm letting you know. If you can tell me it does get better soon I'll change it and give this another chance.

When I read this I do so in small doses and I turn my brain off. Jethro is a weirdo and I can’t relate to him at all

I can relate sort of?
I do this sort of thing to be polite, regardless of social ques.
On top of that i have friends who are sometimes genuinely this oblivious to social ques...
I think Jethro may be on the autism spectrum in some form. It's not meant as a jab or anything, but I wonder if that's why many readers are having a tough time connecting with him and his lines of thinking.
Edit: Upon further consideration, it could also be that the writer is, rather, and that the character is at least partially written to reflect the writer. I know many people do that, as far I have seen in the past. Again, not meant as a jab in the slightest, just to clarify. Sometimes that simply do be how it is.
I don't think I can keep reading this, sorry.
The way Jethro is written makes you think he's supposed to be a normal, relatable person.
But he's not relatable in the slightest.
From sleeping with Zecora because "she's just a neighbour" to scaring away the dragon from "dragonshy" because he wants to be "richer than god"
To even now, refusing help from Celestia who is offering to buy you a property free of charge because, well, you didn't give a reason to turn down her offer.
And now with the Asbestos house, the squatter who fell through the ceiling.
Is he Bipolar? On the autism spectrum perhaps? His actions just don't make any sense.
One scene he's terrified of what the ponies might do to him, the next he shows them the show and drinks tea.
His character is all over the place and it makes ot very hard to read.
This story will probably get better seeing as there are still more than 100 chapters to go, but I'll be dropping this here, sorry.
It was a nice turn, putting a contemporary dystopian spin into a kid's show. But having Jethro bleed his heart out for the mare feels redudant to the point it's starting to feel stacked to tug at the hearstrings, what with all you've done to make us like him already. It's almost diabetic. Like Violet Evergarden; tragedy, trauma, sympathy, healing, & closure for the sake of it. Like a pornography of its genre, as something dialed up high or intense to gawk at without the trappings of other nuances or high or lows of other plot threads to distract.
Asbestos in Equestria. Didn’t think I’d encounter that issue in a FiM Fic…

what is it anyway i have never heard of it?

It's the name for a group of naturally occurring fibrous minerals that are resistant to heat and corrosion. Was used as insulation for a long time, but was learned later that the fibers liked to break off and float in the air, which if inhaled caused major health problems, most common being lung cancer. Truly some seroiusly nasty stuff.
