Fixation on death aside, this is lovely —Soge, accidentally describing my entire life

So what was wrong with dragons don't show their sex until later in life, and Spike just hasn't reached it yet? I'm seriously questioning why you had to add everything else. And that's just from the description.

How does Spike grapple with the uncertainty of his own gender identity until that far flung future date when he will know what his own sex is?

... By actually waiting to see what develops?

You know, rather than going and borrowing trouble?

Well, that was a sweet story. Spike deserves to be happy too. :pinkiehappy:

Also can we get a sequel where Spike gets to use his new genitals? :ajsmug:

That was a lovely story everyone felt in character it almost felt like an episode.

While personally im not a big fan of lizards do it so dragons must as well the actual content rolled with it really well.

Dragons are kinda screwed though no sex for a long time not even gentals for self love no wonder alot of the dragons shown on the show were a bit brutish unless the cloaca counts for that too.

It was good that the dragons weren't one note as the show had a bit of a species of hats tendency somtimes probably due to not having as much screen time due to show mainly being about the ponies.

If it makes you feel any better, Spike does just wait to see what develops after the next ~100 years. There's no permanent surgeries or hormone replacement therapy. Spike spends most of the story grappling with whether or not to get prosthetic male genitals in the meantime.

It's definitely not a story for everyone, hence the preamble so people can stop reading the second they feel uncomfortable. This is the kind of story for a very small group that may resonate with this a lot. No need to read if that's not your cup of tea. :moustache:

Aww, I'm glad you liked it.

I won't say 'never' but the story ended where I feel comfortable ending it. If someone else wants to write that, they may.

Wow, thanks! It means a lot to me that you read and liked the story I wrote enough to comment.

Because dragons are mythical creatures, there's a lot of different ways their biology could occur. This was an exploration of them being like long-lived-lizards and what that might be like.

That’s some really clever problem-solving on Starlight’s end.

“Yes, the status of your dog's testicles is important enough to call you in the middle of the night.”

Lmao

Rarity would be a pony who is generous with helping trans creatures find themselves, it just works. The joke at the end was well-timed too.

“Of course,” said Gabby. “You boys get so weird when you’re talking about penises.”

Oh please, Gabby, as if girl talk doesn’t exist.

Ponyville was more “clothing-optional" than “clothing forbidden” after all. And Spike was sure some ponies wore clothes when they were dealing with any kind of problem down there.

It’s interesting how different pony society is that this would be a social category.

Goodness, the dialogue in this is great.

This was great. The pacing was on point, everything was handled in a very safe and refreshingly asexual way so there weren’t any unpleasant feelings. The jokes were pitch-perfect and the first assumptions of many characters were very plausible. I appreciate the more juvenile Spike and how supportive his friends are in all the different ways different creatures provide. The whole plot of the story and usage of fantasy biology was excellent too.

It’s a shame this was down-voted so much already. There are some groups that should be able to help get readers.

I’m so delighted by all your comments!!!

I had a lot of trouble finding stories that explore asexual male gender euphoria so I just wrote it myself.

If you know any groups this might fit, feel free to add. I’ve added as many groups as I thought might be appropriate.

I'm delighted by this story! It's lots of fun.

Hey, I've done that too!

Ok but seriously, can we talk about the fact that Gruff is sitting on a bunch of cursed relics?

Finally finished! This was actually a really well done exploration of Spike's identity, with lots of fun interactions along the way. Definitely going to check out your other stories soon!
