Uh-hmmm

I come from the land of the green and unknown, from tenth page drop, where the horse words flow.

Twilight scans Anon, only to find that he has no magical resistance. If a unicorn uses a charm spell on him, well... He eventually finds peace of mind in the ponies of Ponyville.

Huh.

2spoopy5cheese pizza. Interesting twist. Good on ya, etc.

That's an awesome villain/hero name, I've got to say.

You might say it's... Nito.

OK, very few stories have me sitting slack jawed, staring at the wall, deep in thought for ten minutes after the story ended.

Well freaking done Sir or Madam!

Then I look at the name of the Author and IT IS YOU, The Author that I burned two of their stories as audio books just yesterday.

Well done. You have to make this a prequel and expand on it. I want to see a Anon necromancers adventures. You could do it justice.

Glad you liked it, though I am afraid no sequel will be forthcoming.
...
Wait, there are audiobooks of my stories? Would you happen to have a link?

Awesome, fascinating work. I realize you said there wouldn't be a sequel, but I admit I'm deeply interested in what Anon wants to accomplish as the Gravelord. He's been hailed as a hero and a war criminal alike, which suggests some motivation that doesn't involve a specific interest in methods to accomplish it. Regardless of whether or not we ever find out, great job.

This reads like a prologue for a really great story! One that I'd love to read more of, maybe? (nudge nudge, wink wink)

I'm sorry, but would somebody explain what happened here? :rainbowhuh:

The implication seems to be that Fluttershy mind-controlled him, but she's not a unicorn, and if she used The Stare, it doesn't make sense that she would have him do any of this. The whole necromancy angle doesn't seem to fit anything at all. Presumably that wasn't Fluttershy's idea, clearly it wasn't Twilight's or Rarity's idea, it seems he was already doing it before Roseluck entered the story...why did he just randomly decide to become a necromancer and yet come back to Fluttershy for no particular reason? Or did Fluttershy mind control him, and she just lets him be a necromancer because why not and lets her animals give clues to Twilight about her dark secret for no reason?

What's going on here?

omg this was such a delight to read.

As you trot home, you hold your head up high. Maybe you don't have to be as powerful as Twilight, you can just be yourself.

awwww adorbs :rainbowkiss:

1) Anon learns about magical foci from Twilight, and how gems can act as a magical defense.
2) Anon gets magical defense clothes from Rarity.
3) Anon plants flowers in the cemetery to cover for his grave robbing of magical foci.
4) Anon has been hunting magical creatures in the Everfree, trying to harvest their respective magical foci. Note how interested he is in a dangerous magical animal showing up, though it turns out Fluttershy's animal friends were referring to him.
5) Twilight finds him, wearing a suit that channels magic through earth pony bones and pegasus feathers, giving him super strength, durability, and flight. He uses a gem-studded horn as a wand.
6) Anon is known as Gravelord Incognito at least initially because his suit is cobbled together from long dead pony bodies. Also because it is a dark souls reference. Necromancy may or may not come into play later, but it would fit his modus operandi of coming close to or maybe using dark magic in pursuit of magical power.
7) Fluttershy and Anon have a relationship, with the potential implication that she keeps him morally grounded. Or maybe "taming" him is getting him, as a willful and powerful male, to settle down with her.

Hm... wanders a bit. Definitely not my favorite.

That... Sure is an interesting story, only half surprised by the end, but still an enjoyable read. Though I gotta say I love the name of Gravelord Incognito.

This turned out quite different than I expected.

Well played.
Awesome read.

That plot twist was an excellent reimagining of the clichéd RGRE plot. Well done!

Did not expect that.

Not at all the ending I was expecting; I was afraid things were about to go very bad for Twilight for a minute.

kinda weird but i liked it

This was cute. And a bit on the morbid side. But if those bones give Anon superpowers, superpoweres he uses to save lives: I suppose he did the right thing.

My heart beats ever so slightly faster at the sight. I do your best to ignore it, focusing instead on measurements and possible designs for Anonymous' unusual frame.

As the last word of the pleasantry leaves your lips, you devote yourself to the cause of Fabulousity once more.

I sweep the bits into the register drawer with practiced ease. I lean your elbows on the counter and rest my chin on your hooves.

As I trot home, I hold your head up high. Maybe I don't have to be as powerful as Twilight, I can just be myself.

I shake your head.

Missed a few spots, but besides that it is much easier to read for people like me - who enjoy first person or third more than second.

Thank you for your conversion of this one-shot!:moustache::raritywink:

wups, edited.

Thank you for the corrections, it can be hard to catch when I'm so used to writing in second person. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

Gonna get a sequel of his heroic and slightly ghoulish adventures?

Just read this one-shot again, and I am amazed at how much potential it has if you were to ever venture into a short novel or even a novel with this as the seed.

With that said, it still warms my heart whenever I read it.

From time to time as the months turn into years, you hear news of Gravelord Incognito. Tales of heroism, accounts of war crimes, cities saved and treasures stolen. He even shows up under a different name in a recent Daring Do novel. Fluttershy, the poor mare, keeps his house clean. You knew she had a thing for him, but even so... _______________________________________________

A Dark Souls reference! Such joy!

Well that took an unexpected turn. And yet the ending is still kind of happy.
