Bloody tears as a common side effect of medication?
That's surprisingly badass.
Seriously, have a little girl watch an emotional episode of FIM, but color the tears red, and that little girl will immediately know how to hold her liquor and throw a punch.
That side effect is both horrifying and amazing. I wonder if it will happen at the party.
Interesting. I wanna know who will be at the party. I'm looking forward to it!
Nice chapter! Poor Soren...must be hard. I know Pinkie can be... Eccentric but she's just a happy pony... but filled with sugar.
Hoping party will be awesome.
Ha...
1484442 All the sweeter knowing that I referenced that in an earlier chapter.
"There are some minor side effects, and some are not that rare! /
Like nausea, and vomiting, and losing all your hair. /
And heart attacks, becoming gay, and growing extra breasts, /
But it’s f'ing cheap, and hey, this is the NHS!"
1484471 Of course you would do that in the meter of Pinkie's Singing Telegram.
1484485
ok, I didn't read it like that at first, then I did. hilarity ensued.
Of course he (or she. I don't know, I'm just throwing it out there!) would. I would have too had it not been already done and if I was witty.
All I have half the time are poor attempts at half-assed jokes. And half the time I have any half-assed jokes I'm not even half-assing them, instead just being slightly annoying and attempting to be funny by throwing out random words and rambling. Like rambling about cheese. Do you like cheese? I personally love cheddar, as it makes everything one-hundred percent better. Or was that parmesan? I mean, why do people put parmesan cheese on macaroni-and-cheese? I mean, hello, it's already got cheddar in it! The rest of the time I'm just stealing someone else's schtick. Honestly, it's not like said routines and or jokes were going to be used any time soon, am I right? Right? Well?
Get bored, pick this off my read later list, think I'll read a chapter or two, sixteen chapters later I have to stop. One word.
MOAR!
1484351
Wait... So it would make them Irish?
1484711 No, no, not at all. It makes them Scottish.
Great chapter
1484711
I don't see why not!
1484716
Hey I'm Scott/Irish, and I don't drink. But, then again. I could whoop someone's ass. But, that's mainly because I'm large, burly, and hairy. But... That's the Scott in me. But, The Irish hold their liquor much better and the Irish woman are the violent ones. Not the men. The reverse holds true in Scotland. Well, from what me grandmum used to tell me anyway.
1484729
Hang on a moment. *Goes and preforms this experiment. Two hours later their is an Irate Irish girl beating the hell out of someone while downing some lager.* Well... that just happened.
1484731 So, by process of elimination... It makes them Scott/Irish! It all makes sense! The incomprehensible mutterings, their red, glazed eyes demanding more drink, the bone crushing blows from their fists and legs...
Or maybe they're just cranky and need more nap time.
Realistically, he would like hayfries as he has Lyra's tastebuds. The taste is in the buds, not the brain.
That sounded very weird.
1484836
>Talking realism in one aspect when bleeding eyes is apparently not an uncommon side-effect of medication.
1484842
Hell, it could happen.
I don't know shit about medicine.
But I know that much about biology.
B-but, McDonald's is delicious!
1484842 like one of my own FF this causes fear to continue righting
1484853 not their breackfaset
1484851 an A-10 Warthog one of my top three faveret airoplains of all time? alongside the SR-71 'Black Bird' and the B-27 'Flying Fortress' insti wach
1484853
The only thing on McDonald's menu that's both cheap and edible are their fries.
The angus burgers are pretty good, but they ain't cheap.
Can't sleep because demon head Lyra. Dick.
1484768
Or, you know. It could be the fact that they just saw something so badass that they became the female incarnation of Chuck Norris. But, that's only a theory.
1484853
I have to agree, and I love their hashbrowns, they taste as they should: Like Hashbrowns
Make no mistake though. The food isn't good for you, so I only have it on occasion
This is absurdly well done.
Your summary needs work, however, because it made me before I read the story. Chapter 1 was still like , but then you got to the Explosion and I was like then . Is the bit about estrous cycles necessary? While worked in convincingly enough, I'm not sure it adds to the story.
Freaking brilliant.
Awaiting further releases.
1485400 Yup. I'm almost finished 'book 3' of Project Horizons, and have finished Pink Eyes as well.
Sudden character self-pity out of nowhere! Soren's family abandoned him? That looked decidedly different in the earlier chapters.
1484442>>1484452
I love referencing this. 30 boonbucks if you get it.

Soren's basing the whole 'abandonment' thing on a specific line at the end of Chapter 10.
As was later described in the beginning of Chapter 11, he took it as "If you don't completely fix yourself, don't bother coming home." Hence the abandonment.
1486300 Yes, I get my own reference.
1486323
:p
I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that you're not a homestuck.
1486141
Yeah, that stuck me as odd. They didn't abandon him, even if his sisters might be a creeped out for now. They offered all their love and support. It's just that they are not available to help him. That they give him a goodbye-hug sort of emphasizes that.
Also, blood from the eyes? Is that a Dishonored reference? Because that has that phrase all over it in the game, as it is one of the symptoms of the later stage of the rat-plaque. Also, compared to some of the side-effects of some real-life medications that's actually fairly tame. No, I'm serious.
1486340 No, I fully understand the reference, hence me saying I get it. I'm just of the mind that if you have to point out a joke, it ceases to contain any humor.
1486367 Never played Dishonored. Don't have the cash. As far as Soren's 'abandonment', try and think of that sort of thing from his perspective.
1484851 Well technically taste can be influenced as much by the brain as by taste buds. Many people have a story behind their favorite food and cite bad experiences for a dislike of others.
Also when it comes to the eye bleeding, my vote is on small, magically induced tumors in the tear ducts causing Haemolacria.
I feel a moment of alarm, having recalled reading something about horses and colic from gassy foods. “Wouldn't the beans give a pony colic though?”
“Nah, you're thinking about your world's horses.” She smiles widely. “Equestrian ponies aren't that similar to them in many aspects. Believe me, I checked. Take chocolate or caffeinated items for example. Pretty dangerous to them, but they're just stimulants here in Equestria. The thing with potatoes, tomatoes, and other members of the nightshade family is just coincidental. Then there's the whole difference in level of intelligence. We're closer to humans than you'd think.”
How would Lyra know this?
Was it mentioned that Soren shouldn't eat these?
1486376 Just thought I'd tell you this, as living on a farm with a couple hundred horses, pure alfalfa is toxic to horses, usually grass alfalfa mix is used at about a 70/40 blend. I love the story, but that was just bugging me a little.
1486300 WERES MY THIRTY BOONBUCKS JEFF?!
1487438
Sorry bro! The boonbucks were a lie, man. the boonbucks were a lie!
1487466 thats not cool, bro.
1486952 She had access to Earth's internet.
1487002 See Chapter 5: Of Socks and Toilets
1487123 Yeah, that particular blend, which was described to me as alfalfa hay was my particular intention. I suppose altering it to read alfalfa hay might work better, no?
1487081 I'm glad I'm starting to burn off that reckless, uncaring impression I gave on Lyra.
Great chapter.
1488021
Thanks, I hate when I forget little details.
1485141What you got against Mickey D's breakfast? Their pancakes and hash browns and sausage patties all rock. Then again the only arguably "healthy" thing on there is the pancakes and milk. Even still, the pancakes are batter based, and not all thay healthy to begin with. The hash browns are pretty much deep fried, and the sausage is totally COVERED in grease. Delicious, but at a cost. Like my great grandpa used to say, "If it tastes good, spit it out!"
Anyways, please tell me you have a plan for if(when) you cure Soren of his mental "disorder". I'd love to see more of this.
1489701 I still profess to this day that those hash-browns I had all those years ago was like eating newspaper. That is my experience, and I'm sticking to it.
