Sleep paralysis: a state in which one is aware, but incapable of movement or speech. It occurs when awakening or falling asleep. It is said that between eight to fifty percent of the population will experience it at some time in their life.

It is during this time that one may hear, feel, or see things that are not actually there. Beings of shadow or darkness that seem to wish to cause harm to the victim of the paralysis.

For Princess Luna, she's about to experience the horror of it all first hand.

8839549 Amen. That was intense.

I'm pretty sure that's not how it works irl... But hey, magic!

I've experienced sleep paralysis more than a few times in my life and while it's nothing like this, it's still pretty damn scary.

I've had sleep paralysis before. I was too tired to care, so I just layed there for a while.

I had this happen once. Completely terrifying.

Still probably isn’t as bad as anesthesia awareness.

8840858 OH GOD, NO! I sometimes wonder what it would've been like when I had my spinal fusion surgery and feel an unbearable surge of anxiety. That's the type of stuff that my nightmares nightmares nightmares have. @_@

This story was loosely based off of a few expierences I've personally had, but obviously upped for the sake of making it a little less... monotonous, along with some details being fudged with for, well, entertainments sake. In spite of the... questionable accuracy to the actual thing, I hope you both enjoyed the story.

8840380 Lol. Sounds like my girlfriend. :rainbowlaugh:

8840452 Aye.

8839549 Damn, well. :raritywink:

Sleep paralysis. I've had it. I just lay there, and tried not to completely freak out. Speaking of sleep paralysis, what teh thing called when you're half asleep and you jerk your entire body real hard and can't fall asleep for the rest of the night?

Ohhh so creepy. Fear of confinement is understandable and manifests to varying degrees but being trapped in your own body must be a whole new level of terror.

Seems like the Tantabus is no longer content to roam Luna's dreams.

Hey there! I did a reading of your fanfic! I love how creepy that is too! YouTube Reading
