Elements of Harmony

"Alright, let's move. The coast is clear!" Twilight said, motioning her friends toward the Castle/Hive.

"Do any of you remember the Elements of Harmony?" Twilight asked.

"What elements?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"Pinkie! Were you listening?"

"No." She said teasingly.

"Makes sense when you were packing party supplies and singing. Okay, so the Elements of Harmony are six magical items items designed to protect Equestria should it ever be in danger. Only five out of the six are know: Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty and Loyalty are all known. The sixth element is not known yet, and needs to be activated by some sort of spark." Twilight repeated.

"Okay, let's roll! But first, haven't any of you noticed that the bridge seems to be broken? We need someone to fix it." Pinkie Pie said as the group headed for the castle. Rainbow Dash prepared to fly to the other side if it weren't for a strange voice calling her.

"Excuse me, ma'am, but aren't you Rainbow Dash, the fastest flyer in Equestria?"

"Why yes I am, and I'm planning to join the Wonderbolts, and I've been trying to get in it for my entire life!" Rainbow said.

"You mean those wimps! Pa-lease! No! I want you to join me! You're friends are gonners either way!"

"Rainbow, what's taking so long?" Twilight shouted.

"Sorry, Mr. Creepy Voice, I have to help my friends, even if it costs my life." Rainbow Dash said, once again flying to the other side of the bridge again, only to be stopped by a bulky-looking humanoid insect-like creature.

"Don't think I'm giving you a choice! You will join my leader's forces and like it whether your mind wants to or not!" the insect said.

"Rainbow!" Twilight yelled out.

"If only I was able to fly with those wings of mine, much less perform magic with my horn..." Twilight said with a sigh.

"Last choice! Join us willingly or I'll force you to join!" the humanoid insect said.

"No, you overgrown gnat! I'll stand by my friends even if it costs me my life!" Rainbow said as she slammed into the giant insect with the force of fifty bullets, throwing him across the sky.

"This will not be the last of Abdomennius, the soon-to-be-King of this World! And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling little pegasus. Oh, what the heck, claim your prize. I should have brought a book with me." Abdomennius said as he hurtled through the sky at a fast pace. Twilight and her friends were only able to make out the first sentence, though. Rainbow merely shrugged and fixed the bridge, allowing them to cross.

They finally made it through the hive, bashing through the Nightmare's minions, and made it to the chamber where the Elements were supposed to be in, which was surprisingly unaltered.

"The Elements!" Twilight said as they rushed to the sculpture-like contraption. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy flew to get them, but there were only five of them visible.

"There they are: five out of six Elements of Harmony. When all five are present, a spark will reveal the sixth Element."

"What the hay is that supposed to mean?" Applejack said.

"I'm not sure, but I have an idea. Stand back, because I don't know what could happen." Twilight said, trying to channel her magic through, but with no luck whatsoever.

"Come on now, y'all, she needs to concentrate." Applejack said.

Twilight closed her eyes, attempting to focus on her magic. Most of Equestria did not think she had magic, but the doctors found out in a not-so-forgiving way. It was there, but it remained dormant, refusing to come out for years. She hoped that this would awaken her magic somehow, any way.

Before she could focus any further, the wall behind the machine burst forth, revealing what I'll now call Parasytium. Nightmare Moon is no more, being completely consumed by the beast. It looks like that it is much bigger than normal, with dark grey chitin, six legs, and more bulges of magic that it did when it emerged from Nightmare Moon at the interrupted Summer Sun Celebration.

"You've gotta be kidding me!" Twilight said as Parsytium lifted one foot and crushed all five elements, laughing/screeching in sheer triumph as lightning flashed in the background, almost as if it clearly knew they would come to stop it.

"The Elements!" Twilight said. She went to grab some of the chunks of rock before they shocked her. Parasytium laughed, its enemies are as good as dead once it grills them alive, and eats them for lunch if their bodies are not charred. Its mandibles opened to release a burst of Nightmare Moon's magic. Quickly did the torrent fly to its target. Parasytium expected seven charred or cooked bodies, but instead, there was a glowing white force field around the Mane Six and Spike, who were completely unscathed.

"You think you can destroy us and the Elements just like that. Well, you are wrong, because I've realized that me and my friends are, in a sense, no, we are the Elements of Harmony!" Twilight said smugly, much to Parasytium's shock.

"Applejack, who reassured me in my doubt is the Element of Honesty! Fluttershy, who tamed a mighty manticore with her compassion is the Element of Kindness. Pinkie Pie, who banished fear by giggling in the face of danger is the Element of Laughter. Rarity, who calmed a sorrowful serpent with a meaningful gift is the Element of Generosity. Rainbow Dash, who refused to leave her newfound friends behind for her heart's desire, is the Element of Loyalty." Twilight explained.

"Before you were about to finish us, I found that the spark was not an external spell, but formed by internal bonds. Bonds that I have just realized that I've neglected. I finally felt content for my newfound friends. You see, the spark that resides within us all grants access to the sixth Element. My Element: Magic!" As soon as Twilight finished her speech, the peices latched onto the ponies, and a giant rainbow swirl ascended upwards and shot towards Parasytium, who shot a blast of it's own, but it was no use for it.

It swelled bigger and bigger, until, it popped. The multicolored lights engulfed the Castle of the Two Sisters, erasing Parasytium's own influence from the Everfree. Twilight woke up and rubbed her head with her hand, groaning in the pain of her headache.

"Everyone okay?" Applejack said as she looked around.

"Wow, Rarity. Your tail grew back!" Fluttershy said, electing the white unicorn to look at her tail.

"What! It looks even lovelier than before." Rarity said as she rubbed it against her face.

"Not only that, but we got super duper fun necklaces that look just like our cutie marks!" Pinkie Pie said, grinning with excitement.

"Aw yeah!" Rainbow Dash said as she looked down to see her own.

"Twilight Sparkle. I am glad to say that you and your new friends ARE the living representations of the Elements of Harmony." Celestia said as she walked from one of the doors and towards the Mane Six and Spike. Twilight ran up to Celestia, hugging her.

"Thank you for everything. I knew you can finally free my sister from that wretched worm's hold!" Everyone looked towards the area where Parasytium once stood, only to see a small light blue alicorn in its place.

"Princess Luna, it has been a thousand years since I've seen you like this. We were meant to rule together, little sister. But then that stupid parasite consumed you, and then... and then... PLEASE LET IT BE YOU AND NOT THE PARASITE'S TRICK!" Celestia was crying in tears of joy and sadness, hugging Luna and nearly crushing her with her strength.

It was no trick, Luna was there.

"SISTER! COULDST THOU PLEASE LET ME GO!!!" Luna yelled, almost suffocating.

Pinkie Pie also cried tears of joy before immediately planning out a party.

"My faithful student, Twilight Sparkle. Thanks for saving my sister." Celestia said, now back to her calm demeanor.

"But what is going to happen to me? I mean, just when I've learned the means of-"

"Shh, Twilight. I hearby decree that you will learn about the Magic of Friendship here in Ponyville.

Meanwhile, in the sky.

Abdomennius chuckled. He would have died if he didn't have wings to fly with. Faking his own death? Who thought of that? He will take over Equestria, in time of course. But first, he'll have to hide and lay low. He was patient. He's got time on his own insectoid hands.

He just needed to wait.

Excellent work on this next chapter. Indeed, the exchanges, characterizations, humor and future story set-up are definitely quite well done in all the right places. I absolutely loved the detail with the fight at the bridge that not only made Rainbow's "Element trial" look more well-earned, but even included an amusing Scooby Doo Shout Out as well as the reveal of how that Abdomennius creep is simply biding his time to do better (or worse depending on how you want to view it) next time .

So, yeah, I will most assuredly be looking forward to more, but will also respect the fact that I might need to be patient.

Now that we are here I hope the author takes the story in its own direction and not be fully beholden to the season 1 arc. I would love to see Twilight's childhood friends return.

That name of Kira was ruined for me by the anime Death Note. The main character of Light just completely rubs me the wrong way. When I see that name used elsewhere dampens my mood for that character. Still this is Twilight and since in this story she is still mostly herself I shouldn't need to worry that much.

I say keep it as is. I was making an observation and I doubt that she will often be given a full name ultimatum that often. Besides her friends in the canon show either call her Twilight or just Twi.

It is an interesting concept, I like the alicorn anthro idea here. However, I'm a little put off by the Nightmare being a literal bug. Her being a dark spirit or a darker aspect of Luna would've been better in my eyes.
