Going to expect memories/personality will be clashed and has to think about the small brief happiness to long years of hatred/loneliness/deaths. Note even if the zero personality came out, she can act for awhile until needed to change. Wonder if Pinkie Pie being kirby would matter in this......I'm chuckling at a possible chance for blueblood to be dedede, RD metaknight, and Fluttershy being blue bandana. Then again I can be wrong and this is entirely focus for Zero at the moment and we shall see.
I do like that you reference/integrate Starswirl's dimensional mirror adventure into this, makes me question if the mirror Somba arc would be involve or simply just Starswirl being his experimental self. Wait AU, so possibilities.

Prince Blue Blood reason might be towards the fact that some no name child got princess status by random....basically jealousy. However, if you don't want Blueblood to be jealous, then there might be alternatives. Chancellor Neighsay who is cautious of Twilight being dangerous near other children.( racist jackass to any non-ponies in the series in the beginning of season 8), ....sadly that is the only alternative unless we go with random foals disliking weird things as their parents slightly encourage it. However, at the same time, if she can read emotions, then she can feel negative emotions or hidden emotions of pleasing jackasses who only want her for her status. Note regardless of her looks, she still has a alicorn status to the ponies to try and get in her good graces. So expect some haters, some pretenders, and the rare friends in canterlot...
Now Zecora, the town hardly seen a zebra before and she lives in a forest where it's dangerous as heck so cautious is given(doesn't mean it makes it right for isolating her). Note this makes me question what does Celestia do for this situation as this can slightly reflect badly, but hey she manages a whole nation and corrupted jerks can exist... so what do I know.

Ah good at the moment, let see Zero is an unknown entity at the moment, so whatever path Twi will chose it will reflect on it. Note at the same time, his past lives experience would be shown in the eventual future, since this is first time reborn as a sentient being outside it's norm.
