"Elements of what-now?" Rainbow Dash said.

"The Elements of Harmony are six magical items items designed to protect Equestria should it ever be in danger. Only five out of the six are know: Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty and Loyalty are all known. The sixth element is not known yet. It is said that the last place they were see was at the old castle of the pony sisters, which is located inside what is now the Everfree Forest."

At the mention of the Everfree Forest, Twilight's five new companions shuddered.

"What's wrong with the Everfree? Have any of you been there?" Twilight asked skeptically.

"Oh, heavens, no! That wretched pile of brambles does not work the same way the rest of Equestria does." Rarity said.

"Plants grow, clouds move, and animals take care of themselves. ALL ON THEIR OWN!" Fluttershy said.

"What's so scary about that? Unless you count whatever lives there, that is. But we don't have a choice for the matter, lest Equestria becomes a breeding ground for whatever the Nightmare Parasite is." Twilight said.

"She has a point if we want ta catch that varmit and save the ponies it foalnapped." Applejack said.

Twilight carried Spike in her arms as she and her friends ventured into the Everfree, unaware that machine too small for the naked eye was flying through the air, watching them venture into the forest without any gear.

Heh, good time to turn the camera on, now we get a free show on the HD-T-TV.

You said it right, the High-Def Tracker's Television rocks, and they don't suspect.

Alright, be sure to tell me what parts I've missed, the 'food' has finished brewing.

Remember the recordings? They go in the VCR, and I've recorded everything. Okay, so our seven little entertainers are doing a pretty good job. Something's roaring in the distance. Let's take a closer look.

A mighty roar rang out, and it's owner was a manticore: a lion-like dragon with batlike wings and a scorpion's tail.

"It's a manticore, we need to get past him." Twilight said.

"Aren't you a hybrid, Twilight?" Rainbow Dash said.

"Well, yes and no. Just because I am a hybrid does not mean I can talk to other hybrids."

Everyone turned to see Fluttershy walk up to the manticore, calming it down. The manticore opened it's paw to show a shard of rock jabbed into it, already it was stained red from being in it so long.

"There there, pretty soon it's gonna be over." Fluttershy said as she pulled the rock out its paw.

"Wait, since when did Fluttershy have a first-aid kit with her?" Twilight asked as the yellow pegausus wrapped bandages around the manticore's paw.

That was not how I thought it would be. As of now, it's too dark, only lit by, oh hey, you're back.

So, what did I miss?

Well, the yellow one just went up to the manticore and nursed it back to health. Turned out the big guy just had a wound in its paw.

Shut it, shut it. There appears to be something wrong with the pink individual.

I know right, she's so happy yet so unaware, even when a bunch of those genetically infested trees are going to eat them. Is this where it ends?

A cluster of trees started growing insect-like features, irregularly-shaped compound eyes and deformed mandibles, it was truly a horrid sight that would scar them for weeks, except Pinkie Pie, who was still happy, almost acting unaware of this.

"Pinkie, why aren't you running?" Twilight said.

"Oh, girls, don't you see?" Pinkie said as she began to dance.

"When I was a little filly and the sun was going down..."

"The shadows, the darkness, they always made me frown..."

The infested trees looked at each other before continuing their advance.

"I'd hide under my pillow, but Granny Pie said that wasn't the way to deal with fears at all."

"Then, what is?" Twilight asked as the infested trees surrounded them.

"Well, she said to stand up tall, and learn to face your fears!"

"You'll see that they can't hurt you, just laugh and they'll disappear. Ha ha ha!" One of the trees reverted back to its true state, making them gasp, even the infested trees were surprised at this, but continued their advance, going around the cured tree.

"So, giggle at the ghostly, guffaw at the grossly, crack up at the creepy, chortle at the kooky, whoop it up with the weepy, snortle at the spooky, and tell those dumb fears to take a hike. Tell them to leave you alone, and if they think they can scare you, then they have another thing going, and the very idea of such a thing just wanna make you laugh!"

They all let out a chuckle as the trees were cured from the infestation so mysteriously. Twilight couldn't believe how that actually worked, especially with the music coming out of nowhere. And they called her weird.

Well, that was unexpected. The music and the songs came out of nowhere, and then the trees turned back to normal. But then again, I should analyze the pink specimen even more to see if that was normal. Direct observation is required to see what makes its bizarre phenomenons tick.

"Well, I was just here, minding my own business when this weird insect-pony thing flew right past me and sliced half of my beloved mustache off without thinking. And it has ruined me!" a giant purple sea serpent explained, pointing to the right half of his orange goatee, showing a clean slice, no goop, nothing.

"So what's with all the fuss about, it's not like you are hideous. You have such lovely scales..."

"I know, miss."

"And your fabulous manicure."

"I know, I know."

"And that expertly combed mane, they're all good. But your mustache. I simply cannot let that crime go to waste." Rarity said. She used one of the sea serpent's scales to slice her own tail off and resurface it on the sea serpent's mustache.

"Oh, thank you, thank you. You have truly outdone yourself." the sea serpent said before diving back into the water.

"But Rarity, what about your tail?" Twilight asked.

"It's fine, darling. Short tails are in the season. Besides, it'll grow back." Rarity replied.

"We can cross now, let's move." Twilight said as they headed for the Castle of the Two Sisters.

After a short walk, Twilight and her friends finally found what they were looking for, except it was converted into a nest of sorts by the parasite, well by the looks of it, anyway.

"This may be much tougher than I thought it was..." Twilight said. It was now or never. The Elements of Harmony were inside the parasite's nest, and they will have to go in there to save Equestria from its wrath.

Hey there. Not much I can say beyond VERY good job on this latest chapter and sorry I was too lazy to respond earlier. The exchanges, characterizations, action and future chapter set-up are, of course, quite well done in all the right places. And yeah, the detail about the "Fear Trees" actually being REAL rather than an illusion (though still no match for Pinkie) was clever and the detail the Castle of the Two Sisters being converted into a parasite hive WAS a good way to make this even harder.

At any rate, I will DEFINITELY be looking forward to more of this, but also be quite willing to respect the fact that you DO have a life outside the computer room.
