Zecora was fine. Discord isn't that bad, try and find a Star Trek adiobook read by John DeLancing if your that worried about getting his voice right. You might find one on youtube,
The opening line is forgettable, and I don't think we even needed the scene at the picnic, mentioning was enough and it didn't add anything.
Seeing as Dragons and Changlings are recognized species in-universe, why would they register as monsters?
The mane six were introduced adequately enough, and the monster forms are alright. I assume they'll get more monstrous as time goes on.
Aside from the cosmetic problems, why? They are in full control of their faculties, their psychical differences are easy to hide and do not drastically effect their lives, and they get super powers. I think they get super powers. I really like super powers.
Twilight still stops comforting Spike when she gets her idea. I do not like that.
Pacing is fine, but you do need a real reason to not write to the Princesses. At least Celestia could simply not know the answer.

Generally, people/ponies view turning into a vampire as something not good.
They're going to see them instead. Yes, they could write to her, but I feel this is something to be better explained in person, with what I have planned. There's too much conversation which would mean a lot of back and forth letters. In person conversation seems easier to write, at least to me.

Maybe Fluttershy could have turned into a Draconicus because that would be cooler than the invisible man you know because she's still alive then Discord would be totally ok with them changing.
8083636 Fluttershy is still alive, none of them have transformed completely (that will be more explained in chapter 3) and i don't consider a Draconequus a monster. Also no one knew about Discord at the time of the spell's creation.

Also Rarity is going to feed off negative emotions but Pinkie is going to feed off of positive emotions yes there is no way this could go wrong at all......
