Stormbringer

I write romance with intimacies, not clop. To my readers, I quote The Bard: “We who prologue-like your humble patience pray, Gently to hear, kindly to judge, our play.” (Henry V)

“Especially her My Little Chipmunk figures,” joked Cheerilee. She couldn’t help but to put that dig in.

Typo for you, cause that looks like WAY too many spaces!!!!! *WolfishLOL*

Thanks, this kind of correction is welcome.

To avoid spoilers for anyone who has not read this story (and yet is reading these comments?) I will continue my endeavors to say as much as I can without mentioning specific plot points.

At first I felt a bit of apprehension concerning the "Strange Interludes" punctuating this installment of the series. I had a nagging feeling that my inuition about how that subplot would end would be proven correct and that I would be unhappy with that result, and also that the entire affair would feel totally unrelated to the main story arc. However, though my intuition about the general circumstances of what had transpired was proven correct, the way it was handled by the characters and one in particular left me feeling happy for them. It was an aptly-timed portrait of how debilitating abject loneliness can be and a lesson in how precious it can be to love someone unconditionally with no regard for physical appearance and differences, and to find someone willing to love us in that unlimited way. With that timely lesson, the "Strange Interludes" were both a fitting part of the story as well as a clever distraction with a mystery to keep the reader wanting to find the answers. Very well done.

I was pleasantly surprised by chapter four "A Royal Visit". Here was an opportunity for a less refined and less reserved writer to pen the average pornographic orgy scene, but instead you give us an emotional and spiritual exploration of love. And not just love in the aspect of mates, but maternal and sororal love as well. In part two's "Lessons In Canterlot" I admit I had wondered if the secret relationship that was revealed had been necessary to the story, but I now see that it of course is integral to enable this amazing and profound experience to be had by these characters. I have to say that I was impressed by the imaginative idea and that my only disappointment with the scene is that I felt the emotional experiences of each of the characters here could have been described with a bit more vivid detail. Otherwise, this chapter may prove to be one of the brightest sparkling gems of the "Bookends" series for me.

Oh, and I forgot to mention before that I really like the character Loki and what he has sacrificed to be with his love. I think that really could be a story all on its own.

So far I can't find anything bad to say about this story nor how well it is written. Well, except for one very minor thing, but I'll save that for the very end after I have read the conclusion of the series...

The police came in a very timely manner; mysterious dead ponies aren’t the norm for a community like Ponyville. They’d sent a message by Pegasus courier to Canterlot to request a medical examiner. Except for a few accidents, Ponyville never needed one.

The rock farm is nowhere near Ponyville. Apple Jack and Pinkie had to take a train ride there when the apples went to visit for Hearthswarming
