7234630 I ask because in a high-school setting, it's actually harder to tell, and since site policy restricts human/anthro characters to 18+ only for involvement in sexually explicit stories, it's better to explicitly state in the story that they are older than 18 simply because they don't have a 'word-of-god' age. For example, I could draw the conclusion that Sunset and the rest of the human cast are in their tenth year of education, which the average age of a student is 16. How do I come to this conclusion? Canterlot High seems to be one of those institutes that merges middle school and high school, as indicated by the presence of characters canonically a half-generation younger than the others. Based on how young the human Element Bearers look in that freshman photo, they had to have been middle-schoolers at the time—a theory supported by the presence of these middle school age students at the Fall Formal and the fact that Sunset herself looked that young in the first of the three photos on Celestia's office wall indicating her Queen of the Fall Formal victories.
I'm of course not saying any of this to be problematic, but rather to make a point and save you some grief, lest someone make the same argument down the line while reporting the story.
