If I leave you it doesn't mean I love you any less / Keep me in your heart for a while—Warren Zevon

E

ON A BLUSTERY WINTER'S NIGHT in the ancient Unicorn Kingdom, a storyteller tries to touch the heart of his inebriated queen and her court with a tale of love and loss that he himself believes is myth: The Tale of the Hippogriff.

OleGrayMane crams in more depth than most authors can in four times that length, creating a mythical story of manageable proportionsThought Prism

It's a top notch adventure wrapped in a world building skinTCC56

This is really good so far.

The themes here are becoming more and more poignant with each new chapter.

For love is both grace and grief. It compels us to tasks trivial and grand, yet wounds without need of blade. And when love is lost, its injury is the greatest. Then, when all seems beyond our grasp and the future but a void, all that is left to sustain is hope.

:fluttercry:

What a beautiful tale you've weaved so far! All the characters are lovey, and the story very engaging, never a boring chapter, but never any needless drama for excitement's sake either. A true joy to read indeed! I look forward to reading more of this awesome adventure!

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us!

Great chapter! Celia is starting her search, and I'm both excited and nervous as to what she'll find.

Wow, who would've guessed Murron had a polyamorous relationship with the king and queen? How sad that he lost both of his loves and feels that he was the cause of both their deaths. I'm glad he tried his best to be there for Warrik and Ahren.

Oh Meadow, no....this is bad, really bad. Hopefully she comes to her senses on her own, but I'm not banking on it short of something extreme happening.

Murron, nooo! How sad it is that you would be lost in such a way. Not in the throes of a mighty battle, but picked off by the hot headedness of those around you and bad luck.

At least in the end he got to be with those he loved and lost. I will miss him.

I'm glad the prince has at last shifted his perspective from the glory of battle to the brutality of war. I wonder how this will go now that the warriors have lost a great source of wisdom.

Always happy to see this updated, thank you for the new chapter!

Hey, so I saw this in the also liked section of my story 'Autophobia' and was saddened to see what looks like a charming little piece by such a quality author is struggling a bit. So, I gave you a 10th upvote to help you out, even if I'm unable to get to this story right now. Happy writing!

Really glad I finally read through this, because I really love this story and can't wait for more!

It was great to see an update from this.

We are, obviously, very close to the end, of both the story and its publication: hold me to that.

I'm a bit sad at the thought of this ending, but I shall hold you to that.

I've been meaning to read this story and so decided to start it tonight.

You did not ever tell me you were such a good writer. This is a wonderful story!

You did not ever tell me

Show, don’t tell, and that’s always difficult. Thanks for giving the story a chance and spending your precious time on me.

Finished? Woo-hoo! Onto the kindle it goes! :pinkiehappy:

Gridle? Oh... Kindle. Carry on.
So, you’ve been waiting twenty-three months to get started? I’m so sorry.

9158613
It's okay, I've had a few other things to read in the meantime! :raritywink:

This is... surprising in how it ended, and how it ended up doing something great: it actually managed to make proper use of new canon while giving it the love and adventure so many older stories have.

I really enjoyed this.

Sweet, it's finished. I apologize for the lack of comments of late, I've been waiting for this to complete so I could reread the whole thing from the start. That way, everything would be fresh for my review. Bet you forgot I'd promised you one, didn't I? It has been over a year, after all.

More so than a simple comment, a review implies critical analysis, both of a story's merits and flaws. I may be a bit, as I've never written a proper one on fimfic before, and I want to make sure it's done right, given how many other critics frequent these parts. So look forward to that.

Bet you forgot I'd promised you one, didn't I?

:twilightblush: Yes, yes I did.

It has been over a year, after all.

:facehoof: That recent?

 Regardless, I await your report.

The end, and what a nice finish!

I think you did really well with the message (hope), I really enjoyed the characters and their personal journeys, and I'm glad that for all the hardships, they managed to get their happy ending! Even the old storyteller doesn't know just what an impact he'll have down the road (great touch there btw). I'm really glad Celia's mother was able to break out of the orbs clutches. I was really wondering if she would be okay, even after doing so, but it sounds like she's alright, thank goodness.

Overall a really nice story! Thank you!

given to her on the day my father swore he’d be her’s forever

"hers"

“Couldn’t you not give them some to make them go away?”

In all honesty, pacifying would-be plunderers by giving them money usually results in them coming back later for more, and then again for some more, and so on and on and on.

Even if one party sees it as paying the other to make them go away, the other is more likely to interpret the situation as meaning the first party can be easily bullied into giving them gold.

On her right sat Warrik. who also had a plate appear before him.

Should be a comma.

The story is great so far!

Those haunting eyes of her’s

Should be "hers".

This was a fantastic story. Well done.

Thank you very much for spending your time on it.

Oh my God, I am in love with this story

Frankly this is one of the few stories that has ever drawn me to tears.

It may simply be your mastery of words, or the connection I feel with your characters, but I am entranced by this amazing story that you have woven.

PLEASE, I NEEED A SEQUAL. Just a one chapter fluf-fic of there beutifual life, that is all I ask!

I beg of u you good sir :3

Goddamn, I have no idea how this isn't ten times as popular as it is. Bravo. That was wonderful.

Thanks. It means an awful lot know that you enjoyed this.

I really like Warricks' personality and how Celia can't quite tell what is really him, his kingly visage, or his moods or temper. It makes it very interesting trying to figure out what he's really planning.
