6344278 in the Season One episode titled Bridle Gossip, Twilight tells the others that Zecora is a Zebra, and not a Pony while they hide is Sugercube Corners. my statement is cannon...
man, this is getting more interesting, it was interest already, but I think someone knows what I mean
6344248 Adventure Time!
(You set me up for that one, and boy what an adventure!)
Great chapter, again! I like how C6elestia acted in her confrontation with Twilight, especially with the memory affects on her herself. And the two Twilight was interesting. I'm curious to see what present Twilight told Trixie to say. Also next chapter looks to be a very kinky one and we might finally see the mysterious puppetmaster!
Also you miss a golden opportunity by not naming this chapter "Focusing Twilight"
Wait a sec.."I've released the door. You will open it, and recite: 'Awaken. Act normally, stay here, and wait for further instructions. Slumber.' Then you will close the door and return to me. Can you remember that, Twilight?" That should have woken 'er, no?
The shift to center-aligned paragraphs is a little jarring. I hope it doesn't persist outside of the mindscape.
Brilliant choice, using Trixie! Don't know why I didn't think of that! And I think it's obvious that Corrupted Twilight is back in control.
You know, I wanted to comment the last couple of chapters on this, but I'll do it now anyways.
This spell /is/ too dangerous. It needs to be destroyed, and here's why: Twilight can't trust the ponies that hold it. It's driven Celestia to effectively rape her. You could argue that Twilight herself performed rape several times using the spell. Here's the difference that matters; she remembered her morals. Gave every pony a chance to refuse the charm. Gave them, even after they accepted, a means to disobey. Twilight's shown what even Celestia hasn't, and that's a will to not do wrong that borders on the obsessive. She crafts orders with headache-inducing specificity just to keep herself in check. I don't think the charm is a corrupter, I think it's the soul that's too happy for the power.
6344304 The statement Twilight made is still false even if it was spoken in the show, and as such, the author can call Zecora a type of pony if she so wishes.
Always happy to see this update. Somewhat disappointed that this chapter wasn't a clop one, but hopefully that will start picking up again. Really hoping that one of the first things Twilight does is charm Trixie into being a devoted submissive and watch Luna take her as a reward for their loyal service. The Night Princess may want a servant to tend to her while she continues her "tour" of Equestria. I know that Twilight already has Applejack as a slave, but subby semi-masochistic Trixie has always seemed kind of hot and strangely appropriate for her personality. Although she does make a good mistress too and Twi doesn't exactly have one of those.
To war.
Finally! No stupid clop getting in the way of important plot resolution!
And once things are resolved, right back to clop.
So that's the beautiful part of it, isn't it? Celestia didn't make a mistake, not really.
It's just that she created the charm. Every part of it. She knows how every piece of the charm works, which means she thinks that she knows EXACTLY how it works. But she's never experimented with it, like Twilight did, to push the limits and see what it could do, how those under its effects react. She's never had to look at the charm as a weapon before, or consider how to use it against another pony who knows how it works, because that has NEVER happened before. And Celestia had no contingency plans for if and when it DID happen, because she had her memories removed. And since all of those things are precisely what Twilight did, Celestia was just plain out-classed.
Of course, it all still hangs by a thread. If Celestia gives into temptation and Awakens Luna, she'll realise that Luna's mind has been altered as soon as Luna fails to address her properly while Awakened. Or if Celestia sees Zecora hanging around acting unusual, and investigates. Or if any of the other ponies now brought into the action get involved - Big Macintosh and Trixie and Cheerilee, for example - it could be blown wide open. Celestia assumed she had better mastery of the charm than Twilight did, but she won't make that mistake twice, and if she spots a single thread that even SUGGESTS that Twilight is capable of fighting back again...
Incidentally, I find myself wondering who Celestia taught the charm to in order to remove her memories. My money is on Starswirl the Bearded.
Either way - absolutely loving this. Delightful clop aside, it's just an excellent story, and I'd be following it avidly even if there were nary a trace of sexy stuff to be seen. Eagerly awaiting more!
Heh. I think I was right about something some chapters back.
Why Celestia would do so much more than just touch Luna... She had this other Unicorn use the charm on her. And he/she might've used the opportunity to have them put on a show before they actually went through with Celestia's request...
Phew! What a mind fuck! And I was not expecting this AT ALL. Very good. Also I laughed aloud on my bus ride home when Trixie made her appearance.
Edit: Why is half the chapter centered? Is that on purpose?
Oooh I loved this chapter, it really shows the (literal) inner conflict between Mistress Twilight and Under-New-Management Twilight quite the literal "Man vs Himself" conflict. It was really great to see the clashing of morals between M. Twilight an UNM Twilight, seeing everything she has done so suddenly from her own perspective it really shows how true "the frog in boiling water" analogy works.
But now that everything has been revealed I think the main difference between Twilight and Celestia is the way they used the charm:
Celestia started out with good intentions which when dealing with something like this is extremely bad as when you think that what you are doing is the right thing doing something wrong in the light of doing the greater good will cause to you make compromises. As they say, the path to damnation is paved with good intentions.
While I could say the same for Twilight, she in fact knew from the beginning that the Charm had and influence on her morality, as absolute power corrupts absolutely, but this surprisingly worked in Twilight's favor. Knowing that the charm is too alluring to not use, she had begun to focus on ways to ensure that she would not be tempted to keep using the charm and by that I mean Charm her friends so that her lust to use the charm would be satisfied, it also helps that making sure they can refuse and giving them a choice is keeping her own morals in check and is much better than what Celestia is doing with her Voyeuristic fetish and Molest them without being noticed.
Twilight's use of the charm may be for selfish reasons or that she does truly have a powerful fetish for controlling other ponies minds, either way Twilight is better suited for the charm as she does NOT lie to herself about what she is doing and constantly facing that truth will most likely keep her in check. It also helps that Twilight and her slave harem are all happy to be together.
Also, I knew it was going to be Trixie, I just never commented on it before.
6344837
Actually, Twilight was lying to herself constantly. The whole meeting with her past self showed that. Twilight can't be trusted with the charm either. Nopony can.
6344864 True, has does lie to herself. But who DOESN'T lie to themselves whenever taking part of an indulgence, don't tell me you haven't said that you will only eat ONE piece of chocolate then proceed to eating another constantly telling yourself that THIS is the last piece you will eat, until eventually you finished the whole box. Also lying to her UNM-self was a precautionary measure since she knew that telling her everything all at once would result in Twilight refusing to have anything to do with the charm. Would YOU tell your past innocent self of all the things you did if you had some extreme fetish?
My point was that Twilight knows that the charm can and will corrupt, but it's knowing that it has somewhat corrupted her is somewhat better than what Celestia, or should I call her Molestia, is doing.
6344900
I actually wonder if it's really Celestia doing the watching and molesting by herself, or if that's part of some old commands her supposedly trustable ally planted back in the day. It could be a relapse, sure, but it's also possible Twilight's attempt at charming Celestia reactivated some things the princess didn't even know she had buried inside.
I don't have anything constructive to say. I really just don't have any words for this. All I can really do is applaud you, because what else is there, really?
I very much look forward to the next chapter (or several as it may be). I don't see this being resolved in the next couple of chapters, and that pleases me greatly.
6344920 I thin it's more of a relapse because In the chapter Celestia explains that as months went by she found reasons to use the charm on Luna, with it mostly being "invisible" to her sister and simply watching her move about the castle.
6344385 No, because Celestia was telling Twilight to say that to her friends. She wasn't telling Twilight to Awaken or Slumber.
Hmmm...
Are we _sure_ it was Celestia who charmed Twilight after? Are we sure it's her that's sneaking around and spying?
Of course, there's also another perspective. What evidence is there, exactly, that the charm is negative and corrupting?
And I mean that seriously. Twilight used the charm offensively, in a few different perspectives, it's true. But at no time did she ever bring harm to the ponies she charmed. She made it so that she's happy, they're happy, everyone's happy. Unethical, sure, I won't argue that for a second, but unethical doesn't mean evil. It's unethical for a Doctor to disclose private information about a patient, but if doing so saves their lives, it's not an evil act. Now, she clearly finds the power of the charm to be addictive, and so does Celestia. But let's be perfectly honest, both of them display a lot of control-freak tendencies in their everyday lives. Throw in some repressed kinky fantasies, and the direction they went with the charm isn't entirely ridiculous.
The idea of "Corruption" does hold true, but we only have these two mares for data collection. And if you're looking for a pattern, two points of evidence make a line, not a pattern. And, for that matter, both Twilight and Celestia became aware of the power of the charm and the potential for abuse, which is why both of them put measures in place to keep their charmed servants from harm, and to stop THEMSELVES from going too far. Honestly, I can see Past-Memory Twilight being perfectly up front about that. "We learned the charm, and we had experiences that changed us. We fell in love, we were happy, we were closer with our friends than we'd ever been, and we made certain that nopony was hurt by it at all."
Oh, I get it, dark magic, corruption, slavery, etc. The charm has the POTENTIAL for great evil and it SEEMS to corrupt. But at the same time, you've got to admit that in all fairness it's never actually BEEN used for evil. At least, not yet.
6345060 That's the scary part. This has all been written in such a way to make it quite ambiguous as to whether it's Celestia giving in to temptation again, or if someone else managed to get the charm... And if that's true, they may already know about what's going on from Zecora, since she was in the house when "the Other" showed up. They may have planted a command in Zecora to come and report to them if Twilight ran off. The saving grace there is that Luna knocked her out cold, though, so I think Twilight should be okay in that case.
Boy, this is tense. And everything is very rapidly coming to a head... What's Twilight going to discover when she gets the last of her memories? This is... chillingly gripping, man. And I LOVE it.
Oh thank god, having what I assume to be most of the things out in the open is really refreshing after all this doubt Twilight's been going through. Celestia removing her own memories of the charm is a valid reasoning for why she seems so ineffectual with it, which has probably been the main beef during this whole New Management bit.
Something I'm a bit apprehensive about is what's going on with Twilight, have the two different Twilight's now fused into a more stable/unstable Twilight? Or is it New Management Twilight just with old Twilight's memories? I don't really have a good grasp of how this merging of personalities thing works out, though I would find it pretty fun if Twi had like a split personality disorder or something from this, then again I suppose a split personality can be removed pretty easily with the charm.
I'm going to assume they've just fused but an idea is itching my brain, would it be possible to maybe replace Trixie with one of the Twilight personalities, split the two different Twilights into two bodies? I highly doubt anything like that would happen since it would be kind of cruel to completely erase Trixie and replace her but experimenting with the charm is one of the best things I loved about the early chapters, also TWILIGHT SELFCEST the fact that its probably not going to happen makes me cry .
But yeah this chapter finally brought this thing full circle and we can now redo the final boss fight having learned its only weak spot. Twilight is hopefully back to her Empress of the Veils self, but I'll understand if shes now regrown a moral backbone even if I'll always yearn for what could have been. I don't really know where Twilight plans on restarting her crusade exactly, obviously she's gotta work on the spell to be able to affect Celestia and regather her harem all while escaping Celestia's notice, which will be difficult with Celestia showing up every day to enact some new fetish on Twilight.
Enthusiastically looking forward to more!

Leave it to Twilight Sparkle to snap victory from the jaws of defeat. Using Celestia's ambiguity to hide the full truth and even get some answers out of the Princess was brilliant. Now she knows exactly what needs to be done to win this war of minds.
The fact that the charm was designed specifically with Luna in mind is really interesting. Now we know why it works through dreams so well. It's rather poignant, to see that all of this has happened because Celestia just wanted her sister back. I had assumed she created the charm to fulfill sexual fantasies that were unbecoming of her noble station; that she started with pure intentions makes it all the more tragic.
Poor New-Management-Twilight. From the moment she started looking at the memories, the only possible end result was to become one with her past self. For all her preparation, she was doomed to become the Empress. She had to see the memories to know what happened, but the act of gaining the memories just pushed her down the same moral path as before.
I don't really have anything to add to this, but God that was hilarious.
And now we've finally been given the chance to see the Awakened state from the perspective of the victim! I love the way you've depicted it here, Wintermist. The entire sequence with Twilight under control, and the calm defeat afterwards, was very fun to see.
Also, the entire role of Trixie in this made me ncredibly nervous. Of all the unicorns to use, Luna had to pick the one who is not only arrogant and self-serving, but also at least partially vengeful towards Twilight?! Thank heavens that Luna's intimidation seemed to have worked, and after all Trixie wasn't made aware just what the spell could do. I will enjoy seeing how Twilight rewards Trixie for her service.
Epic chapter.
6344920
Possible, though I would expect that Celestia charmed them and gave commands to make them rigidly follow a scripted note or something, so that she was only given exactly the commands she wanted.
6345074
That's certainly true, but keep in mind that both Twilight and Celestia were stopped before they had a chance to fall too far down the slippery slope. Celestia got scared and buried her own memories, Twilight had her memories forcibly erased. However, you have to consider what may have happened if either of them hadn't been stopped. Indeed, what will happen if Twilight successfully wins.
We haven't seen Twilight at her lowest yet. What kind of master will she be in a few years, once all possible opposition kisses the ground at her feet? What happens when she becomes bored? Will she keep herself entertained with ever more depraved scenarios and commands? Twilight was already calling Zecora a slave in the last few days before facing Celestia.
I guess it depends on your definition of Evil. I can't imagine Twilight ever harming anyone, really. It's far easier to make everyone happy servants than cause pain (though it's always possible for her to pick up a pain/abuse fetish somewhere down the line of depravity). However, if you consider non-consensual sex to be rape, it's a simple fact that Twilight is a serial rapist at this point. Does that make her evil?
I don't know. In the end it doesn't matter much to me, since I'm here because I want to see Twilight use her mind control powers for kinky reasons, morality be damned.
6344599
A tsundere Trixie servant would be wonderful to see. Perhaps she could have a couple 'modes' like Rainbow, one like her default arrogant self and one that is submissive and devoted. Or even, she acts submissively while still thinking in her head that she's in charge. There's a lot of fun stuff that can be done with Trixie.
"The Lesser and Subservient Trixie is at your command, Mistress! There is nothing your other slaves can do that I cannot do better."
6345178 Trixie stripping, exposing her body, and doing other normally humiliating things while verbally demeaning herself and thinking that she's acting normally, bragging and showing off is very appealing. However, though it is interesting to imagine Twilight turning the showmare into a showpiece I hope that she turns Trixie into Luna's slave and establishes a chain of command. Her devotion to Twilight and swift action deserves a reward, and a capable and obediant servant to keep her company when she can't share Twilight's bed would be a good present for Luna.
Also hoping that Twilight asks Princess Luna what she thinks of addressing Twilight as Empress. The Night Princess venerating Twilight as her mistress and ruler would be touching and arousing.
Awesome chapter! As much as I do enjoy the clop of this fic, I think I actually enjoy the plot more. The fact that Celestia managed to fight her temptation for a time is admirable, but she clearly succumbed to it once again in regards to Twilight. This bitch has to go down! I need more!
Oh come on! I wanted to see new Twilight's reaction to what Celestia did to her, why'd you have to end it there? It would have been a great way to highlight the difference in her new attitude compared to the old. Cause she'd see what it's like to be controlled and strengthen her resolve to not abuse her friends anymore. I mean, I know she's going to want them back, but I think now she'll want to do it a gentler way, and seeing her reactions to those last memories would have shown that. I'm just saying.
6345178
Oh, absolutely true, every word of it. My observation is more that it's not necessarily the charm itself that is corrupting or evil. Celestia and Twilight, all else aside, have clearly got issues with their need to control and organise others, and also some seriously kinky tastes mixed with a dose of sexual repression from not being able to air those urges. I'm wondering, if you gave them this sort of power via any other means, would they have acted any differently?
If it is the charm acting upon them, it's also not making them, well, harmful. Not yet, at least. Celestia's motivation was to keep her beloved sister close. Twilight just wanted to experiment with the charm. For both of them, they started on the slippery slope with sincerely good intentions, but whatever else the charm has done, they've never used it for malevolent purposes. Even when Twilight was willing to use the charm as a weapon, it was a defensive one. She's only ever used it like that on the reasoning that it was to protect her own happiness and those she loved - and given what's happened, it turns out that reasoning was 100% accurate. But at no time we know of have either Celestia or Twilight even wanted to hurt anyone.
Yeah, Twilight and Celestia are mind-controlling serial rapists by this point. I'm just saying, there's no reasonable evidence that the charm itself is the reason for it. Just the means. Twilight might be thinking that the charm corrupted her, but... I'd say there's a perfectly sound argument that no, it just gave her the capability to do what she'd have done anyway.
Good job Setokaiva for the fantastic proofreading. This is one of the cleanest written clopfics I've ever read.
Also the story's awesome. I want to say "hurry up and release the next chapter as quickly as you can", but to be honest, I'd rather wait a little longer and have you continue with the shining quality that it currently is.
I love how this fic turned from Clop with a loose plot to an almost FNaF level plot with a focus on clop. Seriously, the comments are like watching Game Theory these days! Well played.
6344385 Drat. Mea culpa: you're absolutely right, and I missed it. I'll fix that now. The formatting hiccup needs to be sorted out too. Shouldn't have released at midnight without checking the outcome of the gdoc import!
oh I cant WAIT to see what happens when Twilight wakes up again!
I'm afraid I've found a problem with this story; there's not more of it. Fuck.
6345583 Wow I thought the center text was intentional, given that we were witnessing the memories being unblocked for the first time and thus a focus shift on how they were viewed. Just goes to show how good a story you wrote!
I am disappointed at Celestia. Not because she still uses it on Twilight and whoever she wants to.
Deep down, humans are weak. The only thing that holds us back at being mere beasts is the pathetic barrier made out of conscience and consciousness, which is easily overpowered, if the spark is just strong enough, or we can put the responsibility aside or blame it on another. It only needs a slight push. That´s how we all are.
I am disappointed, because Celestia, with her horny () brain, is able to create such a charm, and then fail at getting rid of all the evidence. I mean come on!
Just a row of simple questions and Twilight would have spilled the beans.
But I guess she had other things on her mind. (Memories, anger, arousal, the fact that her student, which she raised like a daugther tried to charm her)
Good chapter. I wonder if they thought of the fact that it might charm Luna as well and they might forget erasing Trixie´s memory, which turns her into the ultimate end-boss of this epic tale.
I still believe Gummy might have his claws in the pie as well . . .
If you finish this, I will happily pay money for a printed and signed copy.
Oh and please, please, please, give us some Twixie!
6345134
wait with the command to end all blocks on the memory wouldn't she now have a whole new memory to remember... what REALLY happened just a bit earlier that day in the library.... instead of what she was made to see/think? That memory alone of what she was made to do... could change everything and her plans.
Am I missing something or is Twilight already again becoming corrupted by her memories? Celestia truly didn't want this bad stuff to happen and just wanted to undo the changes, but suddenly Twilight is again on board with that Celestia is using the charm for her own benefit (even though she only used it to remove the traces of it) and wants to fight her again.
I call now: The one, who is sexing new Twilight, isnt Celestia, but the person Celestia used to wipe her. This Idea came the first time, when Twilight came in her own kitchen. She was like, "Oh, hello stranger, I didnt expect guests." And not like "GOD, its Celestia, what you doing here?!?"
We almost have a visit of molestia here!
6345284
Exhibitionist Trixie, why didn't I think of that? It fits her personality perfectly.
6345426
Well, it looks like all of Celestia's scenes (minus the first one) are being saved for their own chapter for a reason.
Presumably we'll get some of that in the next chapter when we see her really start to fuck with Twilight literally. I'm also really interested in what that very last cube was, the one that was rainbow-hued. Presumably it's some kind of orgy, but I'm wondering why it's the only one that's different than the other Celestia cubes.
Can't wait to see more of that trance perspective. It's very fun to see what it's like from the view of the pony under control.
6347356
That cube was the last one before the row of Celestia cubes, signifying the Mane 6 orgy.
Aww yeah, totally called it!
What'd I win? Huh? Huh? Is it getting to read more kinky hypnosis fun in the next chapter?
6346199
That could be, but it doesn't really make much sense.
Celestia out and out said, that she charmed the "Unnamed Unicorn" that she had had memory wipe her, so that once the task was done, he would forget as well. Which means that, unless Celestia made a REALLY big error when she went too have someone wipe her again like she had told Twilight she would, that couldn't be the case. It's possible that Celestia was too trusting of this person and screwed up the sequence of events that would allow for both her, and the person to forget.. but then again, all of the cubes past the Mane Six orgy had little suns on them, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to say your speculation probably isn't correct. Otherwise the remaining cubes wouldn't be marked with suns, they'd be marked with something else.
Interesting the worshipful way they perceive their master when awakened. I wonder if Twilight's obviously influenced thoughts about how wonderful Celestia is are brainwashing or... a side effect. Luna implied her friends were dreaming of servitude, too. And it's slightly hard to believe both Celestia and Twilight are so weak willed about abusing the charm. I suspect it does twist the wielder, though we know now Celestia did not intentionally design it to be so.
Then again... Celestia's story matches what we've observed via Luna's word and via Twilight... But it's very suspicious that it both doesn't work on her yet was once used on her; her story fits, but, it's also a good cover if another had created it, knew much more about its details, and implanted that story in her. No solid evidence either way, though, so I guess we should take this version at face value for now.
6344973 As earlier chapters AND the confirmation of the author have shown, no matter under what circumstance, those two things will always effect, no matter if directed at the person in question or not.
6347448
Ahh, that makes more sense.
That was fun, may I have another? Looking forward to more.
Keep up the good work. Deus tecum.
