Timing is everything in the relationship, especially when it starts to deepen. A thing Jack knows too well. But she wasn't one to give up, even if she wasn't the best at describing what she felt. So when she finally had a chance to come out regarding how she feels, she jumped for it, even if what she wanted to say isn't what Rarity wants to hear.

Very nicely written as always, Merc. I especially like the end. You wanna know why I like you as an author? I could feel Jack's embarrassment and shame from what she did as if it where my own; that cold wash of shame through the body and the heat draining from the face in sheer terror. It's that moment where all words fail you except for one single phrase:
"Oh, shit..."

Very cute. It was interesting to see Jack and Rarity get together again in a different world much more similar to canon. Having just read The Laughing Shadow, some of the slight differences in characterization and such were a bit jarring, but you still managed to make it all come alive.
Got some edits again(It's a compulsion, I swear), but there's enough that I'll probably pm you instead of posting them here.

Well, the thing is, this is a one-shot, versus TLS, which is a full-fledged story with far more character evolution and progression. Their characterizations are going to be different due to this fact, and due to their history being different in this. Plus, I don't like writing the same story over and over, so I tend to try to avoid characterizing them the exact same way over and over. I gotta give 'em new tics to try out, haha.
