This story is a sequel to Mare Do Well: The Series

A year has passed since Rainbow Dash had become Mare Do Well, having faced many adversaries and come into her own as Equestria's superhero. Now she and Twilight are sent to the Griffon Empire on a mission from Equestria to assist the royal family there against a dangerous and growing revolutionary group capable of striking from seemingly anywhere, whose mysterious leader seeks to overthrow them and cause destruction to both nations.

Well in that case God Himself has some advice for you... :trollestia:

But no worries, hopefully you'll enjoy all that leads up to this one

http://megamuffinss.deviantart.com/art/HE-S-BACK-398843323 had to draw this im still working on more of the body but i hope i got his face right. love the story so far and I cant wait for more chapters.

3172466

Coolness. Essentially his entire right arm is a mechanical steampunk-looking prosthetic.

This is gonna be good, I can tell!:rainbowlaugh:

I honestly won't mind if you have a nightmare segment next chapter based on our Mare-Do-Well story bro.

Sweet! I'll try and get the first fight with Negamare out as soon as I can.

THIS WAS SO AWESOME I LOVE IT CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE :pinkiehappy:

3371483

Thanks! I'll see about another chapter next weekend or weekend after, depending on what I have time for!

I couldn't help but think Deus Ex: Human Revolution when I was reading the infiltration part. Only in this case Rainbow wants the guard to come in and help, instead of a lone frontal assault with stun guns and modified pistols...

That's an interesting little bit of potential history about the Pegasi and Commander Hurricane. I particularly like the fact that Glyda used the name of his great foe in the Griffin Wars. If the Griffins were defeated and forced to humiliating peace terms, it might explain the power of the extremists. Look up the French early 20th-Century political movement 'Revanchism' or even the underlying grievances of the Nazis to show how the perception of national humiliation can turn into lust for war.

This... was excellent. And it's cool that you do this right before our first outing with Negamare coming soon.

So! One of Rainbow's old playmates from the first story is back! I wonder if Glyda survived too (but in infinitely worse condition)?

3428864

Thanks, and yeah, I really wanted to see to it I got this chapter out before the weekend's over.

3429054

That he is, and he's badder then ever! Gilda did die in the first one tho.

Psychic premonitions? That's odd in of itself and not normally what I would expect to see from a Pegasus. I wonder if Magic Itself has decided to make her its' Champion?

By the way, AIM should sue this guy - he's stealing all the lines they wrote for The Mandarin in Iron Man 3 :raritywink:

3442421

Or like last time, Luna had a hoof in it as well :trollestia:

Mandarin was one of his inspirations Don't worry he's not some drugged-up has-been stage actor!, along with a couple other 'terrorist mastermind' villains so it was bound to happen

And now... Nightmare sequence.

That nightmare scene.... PERFECT! I like how you made Negamare the most disturbing one of the group.

3565934

Thanks, I've had a heckuva weekend trying to get all my fics updated :pinkiecrazy: Hope the rest has been enjoyable as well!

3565952 M. Bison: OF COURSE!

This is really great: you are an awesome writer. In fact, the past two installments of your Mare-Do-Well series has inspired me to write my own fan fiction about Mare-Do-Well. :twilightblush:

3588329

Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it, and enjoyed its predecessors! I'm working on the latest chapter and am always happy to have new readers!

I wish the best of luck with your story and I'm flattered to inspire :twilightblush:

Yeah I knew it. It either had to be the prince or the councilor.

I love how the last thing Leo sees before he exploderates is the true face of Mare Do Well. :rainbowdetermined2:

Prince Loken is an asshole. :flutterrage:

If you need me, I'll be on YouTube watching Retsupurae while I wait impatiently for the next chapter. :pinkiecrazy:

3592150

Yeah by this point the suspect list had narrowed down considerably. Motives and such shall be revealed next time! :pinkiehappy:

3592488

Yeah, figured I needed something spectacular had to happen for that. "That's right, you got owned again by a blue rainbow-maned pegasus pony!" ...tho I guess for what it's worth, it was a really AWESOME blue rainbow-maned pegasus pony... :rainbowwild:

Indeed. :trollestia: Is he topping all the previous installments' villains now?

My most recent blog post has a link to something on youtube I made recently :twilightblush:

3592851 Bucking knew it that arsehole. Also wanna work on our chapter dude?

3592150 Your logic does make sense. I thought Councilor Swiftwing was the Phoenix, but it probably is Prince Loken. It is possible that he has ties to the general that wanted to use the Eagle's Eye the first time and with Still, I'm screaming, WHY, LOKEN, WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? :fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry:

Next week? *Gives exasperated groan ala Homer Simpson*

But in all seriousness, I've been following this fic for awhile before I joined and it has been a blast to read ShadeJak. That goes ditto for your other MDW stories too. I hope in this one Rainbow (and maybe even Nessa) gets to put some serious hurt on that son of a bitch.

DUN DUN DUN!!!

I hope there be another installment in this series, because it be pure undiluted awesome.

Really well written! :pinkiehappy: You really paint a picture with words.
The red hood reminds me a bit at Verminous Scumm from Captain Planet and the Hobgbolin from Spiderman, and the mask quite a bit at V for Vendetta.
As for Phoenix' secret identity my money is on the prince, or Zombie Gilda
Cooking at a few new villain characters as we speak.

3596777

Read on and you shall see!

Knew it. Though I wonder how Rainbow will save the day. A sonic rainboom will not be enough this time.
All in all you have created a really competent and convincing villain. Though I still wonder why you pulled this reveal again - the first time it is surprising, the second time the most sympathetic male character is the main suspect all along.

3598374

Thanks! The why and the motives and all shall be revealed next chapter, as well as the final battle :yay:

This is a superhero story. Death is no way permanent in a superhero story :)

3627744

What about when you're a lost parental figure who was part of a hero's tragic backstory?

Holy s**t, that was intense. :pinkiegasp:

Also, I've got a "F**K YOU" to Loken. He's sick in the head. :flutterrage:

3628073

I was hoping it would be. Had to top its predecessors :twilightsheepish:

Was what happened to him satisfying enough for you :trollestia:

3628212

Once again the day is saved, eh? :yay:

3628269 I usually criticize you for killing a major villain, Razorbeak and Shadowbolt are good examples, but I agree this bastard needed to go.

3628269

Well, since Dash hates losing, I can't imagine any other outcome!

3628470

:rainbowdetermined2: Darn right I hate losing!

:facehoof: Rainbow....

Was that chapter, and outcome for the villain worth waiting a week for?

3628269
You mean with an unmasked MDW taking him down? Definitely. :rainbowdetermined2:

3629200

Dunno why, it just seemed like it would be 20% Cooler for MDW to be unmasked for the last fight with the Phoenix. And of course needed a disturbing way for him to meet his end that I hoped would be satisfying enough :pinkiecrazy:

Pure, unrefined, awesome!

3628073 He needs some professional help, but you have to admit, he did have a pretty good plan. Like Rockefeller, he was bad but brilliant

3635928

Thanks! I've been worried with this one all throughout writing it honestly :twilightsheepish:

3636630

I suppose so. :rainbowlaugh: What'd you think of how it ended for him:trollestia:
