PPPM: The Musical (numbers)

Here are the lyrics I wrote for the songs in the story, in chronological order, with links to the songs they were based on. All the songs you see here will be used in the story (eventually). I said there would be singing ponies, so By Luna's Convenient Book-Incinerating Spell, there will be singing ponies.
Yay.

I Bring the Sun (to everypony)

I bring the sun, do-dn-do-do
I bring the sun, and I say
It's all right

Little ponies, it's such a lonely time without you,
Little ponies, I'd like to know if you are near

I bring the sun, do-dn-do-do
I bring the sun, and I say
It's all right

Little ponies, there shines a light in everypony,
Little ponies, I will be waiting for you here

I bring the sun, do-dn-do-do
I bring the sun, and I say
It's all right

Sun, sun, sun, rise at dawn...
Sun, sun, sun, rise at dawn...
Sun, sun, sun, rise at dawn...
Sun, sun, sun, rise at dawn...
Sun, sun, sun, rise at dawn...

Little ponies, I feel the fears and doubts retreating
Little ponies, give me a sign if you can hear.

I bring the sun, do-dn-do-do
I bring the sun, and I say
It's all right

I bring the sun, do-dn-do-do
I bring the sun, and I say
It's all right

It's all right

Don't be afraid

Hey, look ahead
All fear and dread
I want to take off you
Hey, don’t be scared
I will be there
To help you along
To help you stay strong
I will guide you

I’ll be there, anywhere
Anywhen, I’m here
I’ll be there
You’ve got nothing to fear
I’ll be there, just say the word
There’s no need to be scared
Don’t be afraid
Of the next day

Go to sleep
I will keep
You safe and warm
Go to sleep
There’s no need
For alarm
Go to sleep, I’ll stay with you
And whatever we’ll do
Never be afraid
Of the next day

‘Cause I’ll be there, anywhere
Anywhen, I’m here
I’ll be there
You’ve got nothing to fear
I’ll be there, just say the word
There’s no need to be scared
Don’t be afraid
Of the next day

Don’t be afraid
Of the next day

A True, True Friend (Escape Version)

“It might work… I’m gonna try to get them back to normal, but I need your help.”

A true, true friend helps a friend in need
A friend will be there to help them see
A true, true friend helps a friend in need to see the light
That shines from a true, true friend

“So, are you going to let me out or what?”

The ponies here need your help
To motivate them to do what they can
Would you try, just give it a chance
You might find that you start to understand

A true, true friend helps a friend in need
A friend will be there to help them see
A true, true friend helps a friend in need to see the light
That shines from a true, true friend

“Huh. I feel… better.”
“There’s no time to explain, but we could use your help with the dressmaker.”
“Say no more!”

The ponies here need your help
There not used to always being nude
Making them some outfits might help
And get them to act a little less rude

A true, true friend helps a friend in need
A friend will be there to help them see
A true, true friend helps a friend in need to see the light
That shines from a true, true friend

“Very well, I’ll help you… if you stop calling me a dressmaker.”
“Those three seem to have some talent for building stuff, but they just want to leave.”
“If I have to put up with you, they’re not going to get away that easily.”

Ponies out there are in trouble
They are scared and all alone
We need you and your special talents
To build a place that they can call home

A true, true friend helps a friend in need
A friend will be there to help them see
A true, true friend helps a friend in need to see the light
That shines from a true, true friend

“They’re just not listening. What’s wrong with them?”
“They’ve been here the longest. You’ll need some professionals to break the spell.”
“Just leave it to us. I know just the thing.”

You’ll need our help to get these ponies off their lazy rumps
They’re standing there, face a frown, and being great big grumps
But with our help we promise you’ll be off to a good start
We’ll make some fire to ignite the fire in your heart

“Stand back, everypony; this unicorn is hot!”
“Whoa!”

A true, true friend helps a friend in need
A friend will be there to help them see
A true, true friend helps a friend in need to see the light
That shines from a true, true friend

FiveScore Ponies (Finding Twilight and her Crown)

Hey, Hey, everybody! We’ve got something to say!
We need all of you, your help to save the day
Just look a little closer and you will see
That we’re just like you and that I’m still me

Hey, Hey, everybody! We’re here to shout
That Magic Is Friendship is what this is about
Yeah, we thought we weren’t different, just like any other one
‘Till the fateful day when this story here began

So get up, Get down
If you’re gonna come around
We can work together
Finding Twilight and her crown

So get up, Get down
‘Cause it’s gonna make a sound
If we work together
Finding Twilight Sparkle and her crown

Hey, Hey, Hooves up now
We’re sending our message to the crowd
Hooves wave up, then come down
We party together all around!

Generos-, Honesty
Laughter, Kindness, Loyalty
All the Elements we’ll need
To reach victory

So get up, Get down
If you’re gonna come around
We must work together
Finding Twilight and her crown

So get up, Get down
It’s gonna make a sound
If we work together
Finding Twilight Sparkle and her crown

We’re gonna be ourselves, no matter how we look
Ignore the cover, ‘cause you’ll have to look inside the book
I know that we can put all differences aside
It’s time for heroes, let’s start working to help Twilight

Jump up, make a sound
Stomp your hooves, turn around
Yes we know, things have changed
But we’re still around

Jump up, make a sound
Stomp your hooves, turn around
Humans and Equestrians
Find them and the crown

Jump up, make a sound
Stomp your hooves, turn around
Yes we know, things have changed
But we’re still around

Jump up, make a sound
Stomp your hooves, turn around
Humans and Equestrians
We’re not backing down

Get up, Get down
If you’re gonna come around
We can work together
Finding Twilight and her crown

So get up, Get down
It’s gonna make a sound
If we work together
Finding Twilight Sparkle and her crown

Ballad of the FiveScore'd Ponies

Princess Twilight needs our help
Discord will not wait forever
I know we can do it
But we need to work together
We have to get this right
Yes, we have to make them see
Show them Harmony and Friendship
And what we can be

I know there was much fighting
Between the countries and the towns
But I know they’ve a sense of justice
And I think we can help them turn around

Oh, we have to get this right
Yes, we have to make them see
Show them Harmony and Friendship
And what we can be

They made so many arts and sounds
More than you can see in a life
And every country has its anthem
To announce for what they strive

Oh, we have to get this right
I know we can make them see
Show them Harmony and Friendship
And what they can be

Disharmony is in their nature
There will be lows between the highs
But many try to change for better
To bring this place closer to paradise

We have to get this right
Yes, we have to make them see
Show them how to live in Friendship
And in Harmony

Oh we’re gonna get this right
And we promise it’s the truth
We will save our world from Discord
And save this one, too

For your convenience, here are the lyrics to all the songs I've (re)written for the story so far.

I expect some awesome chapters with this!

Oh yes! I tried to sing along your lyrics with the songs. It worked pretty well. My favourites are "Don't be afraid" and "Finding Twilight and her crown". You just won with the Aviators remix there :rainbowkiss:

That was spectacular!!:pinkiehappy:

3349689

Why, thank you. :raritywink:
Just wait until they have a part in the actual story; at least three of those songs are actually quite important to the plot.

Mother of Celestia I'm jelly...You're so good :pinkiehappy:

3378439
Nope, I live near Mönchengladbach, right at the dutch border.

3378532

Ah, well. Still, always good to see another German brony.
It also gave me the push to finally join that group. :twilightsheepish:

3378541 Yeah, I would love to find a Brony where I live :pinkiesad2:
But that's what the Internet's for, am I right? :pinkiehappy:

3378571

Ever looked at bronies.de?

Searching there gives me some results for Mönchengladbach.

3379067 Yeah, I actually just joined.

3520796

Glad to hear. :twilightsheepish:

Exams are over, as well as that cursed scene; I should be able to get the next one together a lot faster.

I would s8y that you should have this story the w8y it is, and have another story equivalent to this one except with the original German. Unfortun8tely, I can't, since having the s8me story pu8lished twice is ag8nst the rules of Fimfic. Of course, if you were to, s8y, leave the story unpu8lished, the mods would have no reason to yell at you a8out the duplic8 story, since it couldn't reach the feature 8ox without 8eing pu8lished.

3548752

Original, as in not translated?
Well, I could do that... I'd have to leave it unpublished in any case, though, since you're not allowed to post stories that aren't English.
But... Rewriting the whole thing for a handful Germans who might actually stumble into this story seems an awful hassle... And I like the English language... :unsuresweetie:

3549224 If it's untransl8ted, wouldn't that mean you rewrote it from German? Also, I didn't know that stories had to 8e in English.

3549381

Untranslated would mean that the dialogue (which, for the most part, is in German) would not be written in English.
What would you want, anyway? Only the dialogue in German, or the whole story?

(...And to think that some people look for translators to translate their fics to English)

Well, I like it so far. It's certainly shaping up to be one of the more realistic 5S/4 stories. I like how chill Dave is about the situation.

3550634

Thank you. There could certainly be worse things to happen to a brony. :raritywink:
...Though I'm afraid we'll move away from realism just a tiny bit in a few chapters. :twilightblush:

3549726 To 8e honest, I'm trying to learn German, so I t8ke every chance to improve that I can get. This story, if th8re was German in it, would 8e one such chance.

As I said, your approach isn't wrong, it just doesn't match that of one of the other side fics.
Given that you haven't yet contradicted anything in the main fic as far as I recall, I don't think an AU tag is necessary. Yes, Last Crusade is more closely and explicitly accepted as canon by the main fic than any other side fic is, but you can't necessarily take every word of the side fic as canon to the main fic; it wouldn't be the first time that implied canon side fics contradicted the main fic or other implied canon side fics regarding some small detail.
Of course, you know where your fic is headed better than anyone else, so you would know whether it deserves an AU tag.

EDIT: Oh, and I excluded the Equestria Girls portal because my headcanon of the movie says it isn't used frequently enough for things like language to be shared. Although I suppose, now that I think of it, that it could be used as a conduit for a morphic resonance (makes as much sense as morphic resonances themselves) even during the majority of the time when travel is impossible.

3672777

Trust me, the AU tag is necessary.
I kinda doubt that TS is going to adapt my canon and have Discord turn out to have been a good guy all along, the German government in my story isn't trying to keep information about ponies down in the least, and then there is the fact that I've taken some elements from Wonderbolt Down, which will be introduced in the next chapter.
I figured it would be easier to just tag it and no longer have to care so much about staying in-canon. Saves a lot of explaining, too. :scootangel:

3672805

Discord turn out to have been a good guy all along

:rainbowderp:
Spoilers?

3672812

See Chapter 6 of my story. It's not officially stated, but I think it is still made pretty clear that Discord had other motives than being the Big Bad.

3673221
Oh, you're right. I forgot about that chapter because it was so out of place with the rest of this fic thus far, but was somewhat similar to another side fic (in that it portrayed Equestria's survivors escaping to a mountain cave)

3673852

Indeed, it was somewhat inspired by that story; I stole borrowed Roseluck as the group's leader, too. :raritywink:

Need chapter NOW!

4180383

Well, what can I say... I was almost about to cancel this story, and now I suddenly get comments again? I get so little comments lately, now I'm actually considering to write the next chapter.

Thank you for the comments. I'll see about writing as soon as I can. (Probably next week) :twilightsheepish:

4182697 NO CANCELING IS ALOWED FOR STORIES I FAVORITE! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This review is brought to you by Zero Punctuation Reviews.

zzz…

zzz…

Oh, goodness, is it review time already!? Oh, sorry to be sleeping on the job - I was up late last night composing a political treatise between the United Nations and North Korea for an atomic warhead enforced world peace program. Any, on to "Planes, Plans and Automobiles," the latest little tale I'm tasked to review. Man, what adjectives could be used on this one, eh? Present, available, uh, functional, um… existent?

So, "Planes, Plans and Pony-Hony-Faces" is another "Five Score, Divided by Four" style fic in which the main protagonist is slowly transforming into a pony. Now, I haven't read this OG pony-metamorphosis story because all this elephant/midget porn is not going to watch itself, but I gather from the two spin-offs I disinterestedly skimmed through that the common elements include, but are not limited to: A.) The protagonist being aware that they're turning into a pony. B.) The protagonist not going to Equestria - at least, not for a while. C.) The protagonist getting all the perks and powers of whatever pony they're turning into with no real down side - bending the immovable laws of physics and nature to their whim with their new found magic. D.) Instead of using their new pony powers to lay waste to Western Civilization or enslave the proletariat, the protagonist instead, in the case of the last one of these I read, fulfills petty grudges or, in our current predicament, does fuck all.

Anyway, "Plans, Planets and How to Lose Your Audience" is a story about an unspecified character with an unspecified named and an unspecified gender (let's call 'im 'Unspecifidia') undergoing a metamorphosis in which all his/her/its physical characteristics are slowly conveyed to the audience over time - leaving you on the edge of your seat wondering: "Is the character a boy?" - "Are they a girl?" - "Where are we in space time?" - "When does that overrated plot business get started?" Oh, and Unspecifidia is turning into a pony or something. That happens to.

Actually, the "turning into a pony" shtick (y'know, the fucking premise that's supposed to hook the reader and set up the conflict) is really down-played. Say what you want about "The New Boss" - at least the protagonist was a character with goals and flaws that responded to that "turning into a pony" business with panic, disbelief and Sisyphean denial, like, I don't know, a human being would. Unspecifidia reacts to this scientifically improbable, mysteriously induced transformation like a banal construction worker reacting to the daily arrival of the cement truck.

What's that? Oh, Open-Mindedness wants me to tell you that Unspecifidia gets a name, an age, a nationality and some background information about as compelling as the nutrition facts for a brand of cereal you don't like eventually, but by then it was too little, too late. At that point my attention span was split between disinterestedly skimming through the middle chapters and flinging myself outside to watch my grass grow in a desperate attempt to feel entertained.

As those of you with fancy degrees and three digit IQs assuredly noticed, I found "Wham, Spam, Atomic Cram Tram" a bit on the boring side. I mean, it's at least functional and decently put together - if a little plagued by Dr. Unnecessary Comma Usage and his associate Professor Run-On Sentence, but I'm not exactly equipped to throw stones in that department, seeing as I'm trying to capture the idiosyncratic "quick-fire, foul-mouthed blithering" of the series I emulate and can only reasonably bring that across with syntax (or the lack thereof). Picture a pan of delicious looking brownies that looks alright and smells alright, but when you pop one into your mouth you realize that they're made of sawdust and sleeping pills.

Who knows, maybe in the later chapters everything explodes with interesting characters, plot points, conflicts and elephant/midget/pony three ways, but the sad fact is the story took way too long to get there. I mean, the first hint at some kind of conflict is a whopping 11,702 words in and there are only so many hours, words and brain cells I'm willing to scourge waiting for a story to bloody get started. "Plain Plan for Tim Tam" simply lacks any palpable conflict in the first 11,702 words I read and at least "Wish Upon a Supernova" gave me a character to give a shit about while it desperately tried to throw a plot together.

This story was not an interesting or intriguing read for me. I found it very, very boring, stodgy, unappetizing and a lot of other very mean adjectives I'm too lazy to think of. It might merit some appeal if you're the kind of person that eats plain cheese pizza, cuts out newspaper clippings and thinks Game of Thrones has too much going on in it. Otherwise, you might get so bored you pound your head against your desk until you start devolving into a Homo Erectus.

4731469

*Lays on the ground, verbally bludgeoned, giving a shaky thumbs-up* yaaaay...

I liked this one. Much funnier than the last one. :derpytongue2:

4735083

Much funnier than the last one. As amazing and entertaining as every single one and my mortal eyes are not worthy of its glory.*

You're quite welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Muahaha! *slowly strokes ego*

4735083 I really enjoyed the songs, and the dressmaker is Rarity, and you will need Pinkie Pie to cheer up the ponies. The Apple Family can provide food and some shelter for the ones coming to Iowa (if you are planning to have your characters come to Iowa after hearing about the sonic rain boom on the internet or television broadcasts).

4955254

By Twilight's alicorn-powered neuroses, that was so far off it's funny. :rainbowlaugh:

Oh no, I'm (mostly) a sucker for continuity. If I started bringing the Mane Six into this, I would just be a sucker.
Besides, do you have any idea what tickets to Iowa cost? You did realize that this story was playing in Central Europe, right? :unsuresweetie:

4958626 Oh, okay. So maybe the dressmaker in your song may be some pony from the Rarity Takes Manehattan episode (Fashion week, where rarity and friends head off to promote her fashion line. Along the way, they meet Suri Polomare and Coco Pommel, as well as the fashion coordinator/judge, Prim Hemline.

4958723

Nope, nope aaaand... nope. OCs all the way.

Better stop guessing, because I sure hope nopony can guess what I have planned... if this story ever really continues. :facehoof:

Wow, even you made a sidestory for that universe, lol.
Will read.

5533504

I did. And I twisted the whole background of it around.

I'm afraid it's pretty much cancelled, though. :unsuresweetie:

5572889 well, still interesting as a story mechanic. I've not seen that, so I wouldn't know :derpytongue2:

Too bad this is cancelled... seeing those other songs in (your) proper context seems like it would have been pretty awesome!
