Discord is wanting to settle down with Fluttershy and stay with her full time, but as the god of Chaos he'll cease to be if he acts to normal and it becomes clear that no normal creature can stand chaos 24/7 and he seeks a replacement, he ends up landing on Spike for the job.
Spike is missing all the time he and Twilight use to spend together, even if it was mostly work, and ends up using his powers so he can earn her respect as an equal instead of being seen as a lowly assistant.
While planning his first move he ends up enlisting the Cutie Mark Crusaders aid so none of the other mane 6 feel left out of the fun.

Rumble catches his brother's girlfriend, Rainbow Dash, in their kitchen one morning while his parents are away and his brother is staying over to watch him. Rainbow decides to use this as an opportunity to get to know the little colt better. Unfortunately for her, Rumble wants to talk about her relationship with his brother.

This takes place in the same universe as my other fic, Come Fly with Me, but this happens a few years before that fic.

Apple Bloom and Rumble are bored out of their minds. Their friends are away and most of the other foals in Ponyville are too busy to play with them regularly. All they have is each other for one week. On the second day, they decide to go and explore a cave in the mountains near the little hamlet. They will not return the same.

Cloudchaser is among the gifted few who had the chance to join the Wonderbolts Academy. During an extended break period, as she returned home to Cloudsdale to catch up with her sister, she notices a colt that she babysits crying because he can't fly well, which means he can't visit his brother, Thunderlane. Can Cloudchaser lift Rumble, and his spirits, into the sky?

With the sudden re-drafting of Jason and Dash into the military, Scootaloo is left feeling more alone than she can remember. Sure, she still has her friends, but friends can't just replace parents. And now with knowledge of her parent's leave all over the town, Diamond Tiara's bound to pick up on her weakness. But she's not the same scared, defenseless pony she was a month ago, is she?

Honestly, this works without knowledge of the prior story, besides the fact that Jason and Dash are her parents, and that they both have a heavy military background. Other than that, it's just another story.

Tags were hard with this, I have to say. There's only light romance, so don't worry about implied foalcon. There's no human tag, because Jason's only mentioned, and is barely involved if at all.

This story is a prequel story to Soap Suds and Scary Movies. However, this story can be read without having read Soap Suds.

Pip has missed his friend Rumble all week at school. Rumble hadn't even shown up at all. Finally, Friday comes and Rumble is back but something is different. Rumble isn't acting himself in any way. Pip doesn't know why but he is determined to find out.
