When Rainbow Dash has to spend the night in a jail cell for a crime she claims she didn’t commit, she’s shocked to find out she has a neighbour she never thought she’d ever see. The other pony doesn’t seem like her biggest fan either from the looks of things, considering their past. But have they put it behind them after so long?

Sometimes it takes a friend – not a rival – to answer that question.

After a year of (admittedly sporadic) Thursday installments, the five protagonists of the Snippet Series finally stop living their lives in parallel and meet up at a Wonderbolt expo to share in some closure.

This story was a long time coming, and it concludes the storylines most enjoyed by the readers as well as ones most enjoyed by myself.

Befitting an end-of-the year event, I now present four cohesive Snippets for the price of one. I hope they please all of you who've enjoyed the first phase of this ongoing anthology. And for those of you just joining, with this installment you can now read the entire anthology from start to finish.

As stated above, this is the season one wrap-up entry of the Snippet Series, an anthology of old oneshots that I (and my good buddy Str8aura) wrote based around interesting pics I found. Season two will continue with new entries posted every other Thursday in 2021.

Legends tell of Hurricane's Champron, the mysterious helm that made him the mightiest Pegasus to ever live. In her search for revenge Lightning Dust found it. But, caught in a terrible blizzard, will she chose revenge or life?

It's been a few years, but it finally happened. Rarity finally told him it just wasn't gong to work out. Now all Spike wants to do is sit in his room and wallow in his misery. Fortunately, Rainbow Dash has other ideas. After all, she needs a partner for the Equestrian Unity Challenge and he could use some time away from home. Of course, making a partnership work is hard enough without the introduction of unexpected rivals or unexpected feelings.

(Written for the fourth SpikeDash competition. As this is under some constraints as a contest entry, this may see later expansion.)

Rarity has a knack for seeing a pony's life story -- their pain, happiness and love -- with just a glance into their eyes. She has to be able to, after all, because not only does she have a younger sister she is responsible for, but she also owes it to a certain other pony. A certain other pony, who, because Rarity wasn't able to see into her, is now self-centered, reckless and lonely, never to live out her greatest dream.

A certain pony who now goes by Lightning Dust, instead of the loving nickname of "Dusty" Rarity had given her.

A week ago, Appleoosa Station suffered a critical reactor failure that resulted in the station's complete destruction. By absolute miracle, a single tramp freighter piloted by a brave young pegasus escaped the destruction - and carried two hundred of the station's residents to safety in its hold.

Young Scootaloo has been widely celebrated for her bravery, ingenuity and talent in saving so many lives.

Problem is, the version of the story she insists on isn't the same as the official accounts.

Lightning Dust will never be a Wonderbolt. When she left the Academy, she swore she'd never look back. When the Washouts disbanded, she swore she'd forget about them.

Yet after all these years, against all odds, she finds herself here. At a Wonderbolts show. Just on the wrong side of the glass.

When you want something so bad that you spend your entire life working towards it, nothing hurts more than having that dream ripped right out of your grasp.

Lightning Dust wanted to be a Wonderbolt. She wanted it so much that everything else, everyone else, became secondary to the blue-and-yellow suit. A disaster narrowly avoided ceased to even be a blip on the radar, loss of control translated directly to thrills, and anyone near her level was labelled an obstacle.

And now, here she stands. Alone. Broken. Everything she's ever worked for amounts to a suit with a hole in it, and her cutie mark in a blacklist. And she has no idea why.

And since Rainbow Dash is busy with training, the duty falls to somepony else to knock some sense into the disgraced cadet.

A gift for a friend.

This story is a sequel to No Heroes Part II - The Journey Home

In No Heroes Book II, Lightning returned to the orphanage that raised her only to watch it – and all the children she loved – burn to ashes. Yet the tragedy wasn't a total loss: she was able to rescue one filly. Burdened by failure, Lightning decides to take tiny Keen Arrow into her care.

Lightning has never considered what it might take to raise a child. Has she rushed into another task too big for her wings? Now she's in a position she never would have imagined, and Lightning must make a choice between her dreams of glory and her new responsibilities.

But is Keen willing to wait for her to figure things out?

This story expands upon the events established in No Heroes. Although reading the series will help in understanding the background material, it is not essential to enjoying the content of this story.
