Though there were a few bumps along the way, Starlight Glimmer now stands as the new Head Mare of Princess Twilight's School of Friendship. Today is her first day in the role, and to mark the event, she's decided to take the first class with the students. But there is one question. What to teach them?

Sunset Shimmer has returned from the Mirror Universe in order to work with her friend and mentor, Princess Twilight Sparkle, now the Ruler of Equestria, on a personal project, only to be waylaid by the announcement that her other friend, Starlight Glimmer, is soon to give birth. What a happy occasion!

However, not all is as it seems. And when the newborn foal bears more than a striking resemblance to a certain Alicorn, the very fate of the universe will hinge upon the greatest sacrifice a mother can be called upon to make.

And in the end, is one child's happiness worth the entire world?

Starlight Glimmer is many things. Master of the arcane arts, Headmare of the School of Friendship, Savior of Equestria, and a truly fantastic friend to those she holds dear. Apparently, according to Trixie and Sunburst, she's also an awesome marefriend. There is, of course, one big problem with that theory: How can you be an awesome marefriend if you don't even know you're dating your best friends in the first place? Starlight may or may not need to add "Romantically Inept Doofus" to her list of titles.

Anonymous finds himself in Equestria, ready to attend Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. He didn’t quite study for the entrance exam, but using the Magic of Friendship™ has never steered anypony wrong before!

Chartreuse Le Feu, a filly with a knack for shield magic, decides to become Shining Armor’s apprentice. She has plotted and planned for many years on how to accomplish this goal. Now, having finished primary school, she works to make this happen.

How aren't there more fics about this adorable trio? I've never been so disappointed.

Sire's Hollow is a quaint little town not too far from Ponyville. Anon would never have any reason to set foot in the place were it not for his best friend, Sunburst, asking him for a massive solid:

Keep his mother, Stellar Flare, preoccupied for a few days while he conducts research on the town's recently discovered magical properties.

Sunburst loves his mom, and they've worked through their communication issues before, but as head of the Sire's Hollow Development Committee, she would never approve of the tests he intends to run. So, Anon will act as a "distraction," allowing Sunburst to get done before she notices.

He does a better job than either of them were expecting.
