7875950 Moonburst 5ever!
Okay, I must admit, usually I'm a hardcore StarBurst fan, but this was absolutely a delight to read! Good, adorable story.

No. Starburst! You moonsognystic swine.
Finally, a "Sunburst meet Moondancer" story! I'm not really a fan for romance or shipping, but I've always wondered what it would be like if those two adorkable eggheads ever meet. It's nice that you highlighted how Sunburst and Moondancer have similar backgrounds and interests. Good job with this story!
P.S. Are you ever going to do a "Sunburst meet Trixie" story since they are two opposites who share a mutual friend in Starlight Glimmer?
I rather like this ship (I was thinking about it this morning, honestly) but I very much feel this story would have worked better as a new friendship as opposed to a meet-cute. Especially for two nerdy types like this who have canonically only recenntly managed to get over being wrapped up in their own lack of self-esteem.
As a meet-cute, it ascends into "romance" far too quickly for my tastes. Felt like I was reading your standard Hollywood romcom, only with more books. Boy meets girl, boy has standard heat and stomach butterflies, girl does standard "you're cute/oh gosh you called me cute", end of story. I do not have a yawn big enough for this formula.
But tropes are tools and some great character action can serve the above formula rather well. Unfortunately, minimal insights into either character (they recap canon events to each other and leave it there) are shown here without the two getting any real chance to bond--at least, I didn't see any moments where they did. But hey, they love books, amirite
In short, good premise, some genuinely decent bits (the way they first meet feels spot-on for Moonie, for example, and the last two paragraphs are perfection) but falls rather short because there's so much you could wring out of these two being in close vicinity of one another, even as a meetcute.
But sadly, that potential is squandered.
7876125 Probably not. At this point I need to focus on my other projects and try hard not to start any new ones.
7876139 I'm glad you could get at least some enjoyment out of this. Sorry that the fic on the whole didn't appeal to you all that much. In general I never really intended to make anything beyond just meet-cute.
Well, this was Twilights old home, it probably belonged to Twilights parents

Yeah, no worries. I mean you're clearly no stranger to the genre, but in the end I had to say what I got out of it.
I guess the only advice I would give is to remember that every coupling works best when you really look at what their unique traits bring to the table. My lone gripe with this story was that a rather "stock" meetup was pasted onto these two -- save for book-commonality and their episode recaps you could replace the names of these two with anyone.
Meanwhile you could have so much fun brainstorming what connections these two specific characters would have. Just off the cuff: Both of these folks studied hard but only recently got to feel like they were worth anything. Can they love themselves enough to take a chance on each other? Can they truly bond over their vast stores of knowledge? How adorably clumsy are both of them on a date given that they've both dedicated more to book learning than social norms?
That's how you engage readers in a ship.
7876196 Ha! Yep, pretty much.
7876198 Fair's fair. If I ever return to this ship, I definitely keep that in mind. Thanks.
Even though Starburst is my OTP I enjoyed this story !
intact is one word.
needs a period to end the sentence.

Wait a minute, the princess of LOVE sent Starburst on a quest that allowed him to get a date with another bookhorse? Sounds peculiar...
Starspike fanboy here. I can accept this. I can accept this quite nicely.
This is an adorable read! Thank you for writing it!
Y'know; I can totally get behind this ship.

And what do you know, it came in super handy raising Spike, too.
I never even realized how those two had almost similar backstories. I like this pairing.
Ah, love...
im torn between starburst or moonburst.
Dang, nice ship pairing. I might actually have to use this in one of a certain story's future...
Oh man, I really wish this wasn't a one shot. It works perfectly fine as one and it ends just fine, but I really wanna see where this goes. Regardless, enjoyed it very much.
Sweet and amusing at the same time. Two worms of the bookish kind found each other and a spark went through them.
How Sunburst kept saying "You too?"... that was fun. And then how he quickly skimmed over Sunset's past and moved on faster than Moon Dancer was able to even being to process what he said
I know this is just one chapter, but I'd definitely love to read more of this. As long as you don't have to force it. Seriously, don't do that.
Still, a very nice read

Sorry guys. I'm glad you liked it and all, but I don't have any plans to continue this story into anything beyond the one chapter.
7880123 No hard feelings. Thanks for this anyway

Yay! These two are so cute! I do hope the show comes back to Moondancer at some point.
This is a very good one-shot.
Plays things straight, and cuteness and fun dialogue make it an enjoyable read. I like this.
7879392 Psh, I'm still firmly on Starburst grounds. This was a really nice story, though.
Before I even read this, I wanted to say your cover art is gorgeous. Simple and elegant. It shows you took time into designing it.
What do you mean this isn't a multiparter!?
Cute, short and to the point. Well done.
I should have read this story much sooner it was hilarious. I admit that I'm a great fan of Starlight X Sunburst shipping but this story was great. The book at the end might be a huge dissapointment since the title reads as if it was created by Discord which is something he would do.
im definitely on board the Moonburst ship!
On the other hoof, was really never feelin Starburst. I see them as still good friends, like when they were younger, but as a ship they dont click for me
But this was just adorbable!
I really enjoyed reading this; I like the idea of a Moon Dancer/Sunburst shipping. Even though I am partial to Starlight/Sunburst shipping, I think this could work pretty good too!
That was so sweet. I think Sunburst and Moondancer would make an adorable couple—and let's be real, a far less cliched one than him and Starlight Glimmer—and this fic shows exactly why.
