Due to circumstances that are too long-winded and boring to go into detail about, Sunset and pals discovered that their world had a version of the Pillars as well! It's been over a year since they were released from their time prison, but most have been able to get on with their lives without too much difficulty.

That is, except for Rockhoof. He just doesn't seem to have a place in this new scary world.

So he asks Sunset to kill him.

After the events of the movie Tempest had found her path back to wanting to do good. She still hasn't come to terms with all the hugs and snuggles though so instead she sticks with what she does best: Beating up monsters.
But from now on she puts her efforts to good use and deals with various monsters threatening the lives of civilians across Equestria.

On her way she also meets another pony who prefers to live similarly adventurous and albeit their completely different pasts he can relate to her on a unique level.

Star Swirl's friendship lessons have brought him to Hope Hollow, and he's brought his old friend Rockhoof along for their festival. But after pleading with Rockhoof to live in the moment, the two might just learn that their history and friendship have a lot in common.
