This story is a sequel to The Shadowed Nightmare

The Elements of Disharmony have been discovered. As they choose their new masters, it is a race against time to find the wielders before they discover their Elements, or the safe streets of Canterlot will erupt into a full-blown war between the masters of Harmony and Disharmony. However, it will not be that simple. Somepony is working behind the scenes; somepony is pulling at the strings of the Elements of Harmony and Disharmony alike. Who is this certain somepony? Twilight Sparkle is summoned to Canterlot to find out, where Princess Luna and a group of scholars are studying the Elements that they have found.

A storm is coming to Equestria...a storm that, when it hits, could destroy everything in its path.

Sequel to The Shadowed Nightmare. If you have not read that, what happened in that story should become apparent as you read this one--though if you want to go read it, by all means go ahead. My personal/"ponysona" OC will not be a character in this story, although this story includes the original villains The Shadow and Puzzle Master from The Shadowed Nightmare.

UPDATE December 12, 2012: New chapters (which is to say Chapter 6 on) will feature cover art by Youkaiyami.
UPDATE May 6, 2013 (Geez, I've been working on this for a long time...but don't worry; I haven't abandoned it): Yeeaah, it's been a few months since I've seen any activity from Youkaiyami, so....welp. So much for the whole cover art thing. :( ah well.
UPDATE May 13, 2013: Next chapter will be released May 27, and from then on new chapters will be added much more often.
UPDATE November 29, 2013: The final chapter will be released at the end of next week at the absolute latest. Also, since I am going to submit this story to EqD, I will be revising some of the earlier chapters to fix some basic writing mistakes and flesh out the scenes with better descriptive imagery.

UPDATE February 18, 2024: Haha, okay, so it turns out that I may have slightly overpromised when I wrote the previous update a decade ago. Best I can do for now is quote Douglas Adams: “I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by!” I plan to finish on chapter 20. Hopefully this time I can make the wait a little shorter.

Our protaganist's life (mine) turns from dramatic to tragic in a single moment...but then an out-of-left-field event happens, and I find myself in an alternate universe version of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic where the only difference seems to be Queen Chrysalis hatches a new queen years before the 1,000th Summer Sun Celebration...and I'm that new queen.

Jumping in on this particular bandwagon. Tagged "Gore" for the opening chapter (and possibly later chapters) and "Sex" because you can't mention any part of the reproductive process without the sex tag on this site.

Prince Solaris has been feeling a pair of eyes on him since the start of Dawn Court. Though the intensity of their stare is enough to give him pause, he decides to ignore them.

Celestia was a filly living on an isolated farm with her sister and harboring dreams of greatness. Chrysalis was a black goo poured out from a screaming wound in the walls of reality, with a weak grasp on the appropriate amount of fangs one should have. Friendship was inevitable.

Canterlot Wedding. You know how it goes. Evil changeling queen impersonates the princess, takes control of the heroine's brother, conflict, betrayal, reunion, conflict resolution, wedding scene, the end. But this all begs the questions; what if Cadance and Twilight hadn't made it in time to stop Chrysalis from the wedding?

Based off of the Disney movie Anastasia.

Fluttershy was living as a royal in the Tramplevanian household of her father, Fancy Pants with her brothers and sisters, her grandmother, the Dowager Empress Celestia, and her servants, namely the young draconequus that works in the kitchens. Once day Queen Chrysalis, a banished sorcerer returns to destroy the royal family. Celestia and Fluttershy were the only survivors, but Fluttershy lost all recollection of her identity.

After leaving the orphanage at the age of 18, Fluttershy sets out with her bunny, Angel, and her new friends Pinkie and Discord to discover who she really is.

It's been a month since the invasion of Canterlot, and the changeling forces are scattered and lost throughout Equestria. Labeled as little more than scum, staying in the nation is essentially impossible for them. Everypony is on high alert, and many of them have been hunted down and banished.

Thorax and Chitin are two young rank-and-file drones. Running from the Royal Guard in the Everfree and searching for their comrades, they never thought they'd get tied up with a legendary infiltrator.

Chrysalis realizes she will need all the backup they can get. First, they'll need to regroup their scattered ranks. Secondly, she needs to play every card in her hand. This time, she will not be denied.

AU label applies as this fic would only be canon disregarding Season 6 and beyond. Thorax is not the same Thorax from the show.

A human living in Canterlot castle is given to Queen Chrysalis as part of peace negotiations between Equestria and the Hive. Celestia knew she shouldn't have let Luna finish the negotiations herself.
