I've seen (and read about) a lot of Original Characters with horrible color schemes. Really horrible. So for today's blog post, I thought we might discuss something that is often neglected in character design: color theory.
I have an OC named Lilac Amethyst, but I'm thinking about redesigning her as a "Crescent Lilac" sometime soon. How would you guys go about changing her appearance-wise?
Things about her: daughter of another OC and Luna, and I didn't think lilac amethyst was such a great name nor her design. too simple so I'm thinking of changing her to match her lineage. To be space related.

When I create a character, I usually like them right off the bat. Sometimes I'll grow to love them over time (Lyric and Halo). Sometimes, looking back, I feel like I could have done better (Unison). And sometimes they surprise me by sticking around for more than one story (Dashing Hoof). But, with my upcoming story, there is one character who surprised me from the start. His name is Finner.

Here I’ll focus primarily on some aspects of a character’s role in a story and the ways in which these aspects affect character creation. The guide might be also a bit messier than usual as putting together these various tidbits of advice would require a far longer text to be somewhat coherently connected.
