Fanbruary Day 2: Welcome to Night Vale · 5:58pm Feb 2nd, 2019
Love is in the air. Love is in the ground. Love has gotten into the water supply, and the EPA is very unhappy. Welcome to Night Vale.

So... I'm going to try to make this a weekly thing of talking about a story that I've been reading on Fimfiction that I feel deserves some attention. With that in mind I'm going to be talking about a story that I'd never thought I'd recommend, nevermind read.
This story is really good and deserves way more views than it has had so far. Go read it!
"Twi, you had me at secret agent. Then you added fame and glory and space. I think you can count me in."
You ever get to the end of a really good fic and then try picking up another one that doesn't immediately grab you the same way? Sucks, n'est-ce pas? Even worse when you find out it's still incomplete and you have to wait another month or six for an update.
And now, back to (if you haven't already...), the continuing stooooooory of a Brony and his quest for really good fanfics.
Back again folks with two more short entries to the Imposing Sovereign II contest that I picked at random this time. Since there are a few of these up already, I'm going to also at the beginning here link to the first 4 of these blogs. They're easy enough to find, but if you've just hopped on for this latest blog, this will hopefully make it a bit easier to jump around to the others.
Recently, I helped my good friend Scriblits Talo with some minor editing of their newest story, published just in time on the eve of the darkest night of the year
I present to you the wonderful tale that is named Cé Tusa, Cé Tusa, Cé Tusa.
May you enjoy this scary delight, and shiver in awe this Nightmare Night.
Everyone knows one. Everyone has read one. A lot of folks have written one; I've written three or four. Sometimes they die while we're reading and then it screeches to a halt, and like cartoon characters whose car just drove over the cliff, we hover in place waiting forever for something more that doesn't come, until we look back and finally realize what's happened. Or sometimes we find its corpse lying 45 pages into the category, a gem buried in the turds of more active but far less talented
My next summer review is for a fairly famous writer, but this particular story of his is one that I really think that people should read more.
Then you would go blind as those orbs in your head sink into a perpetual coma when you read:
I like to read.
A lot.
You should too! At least, I'm assuming you do, if you're hanging out on a fanfic-based community. And you should read. Read things other than fanfic, even!
Because sometimes, reading non-fanfic offers an opportunity to make your fanfic better. Which brings us to Jo Walton's Tooth and Claw.
Sex.
We write about, dream about it, talk about it. Sex and sex appeal is, and likely will continue to be, a multi-billion dollar industry. Many of the most famous people in society are not famous for any sort of skill. Be it in business, politics, the sciences or sports. No, they are famous for having sex appeal, and it can be a tool, a weapon, or a liability depending on the context.
Much of my work - like The Iron Horse or the recent "Spirit of Radio" - deals with the impact of technology on society. A very recent story here on the site takes this theme and creates a beautiful tale of change and hope as well as of loss and nostalgia. It's quite short and very readable, so I highly recommend this tale
Ladies. Gentlemen. I require your input.
I want to bake so bad. I'm in the mood for cookies and / or brownies. Something sweet, as you do. I really want to try make something with chocolate or peanut butter as the base ingredient. I require satisfaction for the sweet tooth!
So, as such, I'm asking if anybody has or knows about any recipes they'd like to recommend to me to try out! I'll post pictures if I do it!
My friend billymorph is celebrating his first full year on this site, and have written a small slice of life slash comedy short-story to celebrate.
Before Pinkie Pie could become a master party planner, she first had to sell a single cupcake.
Short but sweet at ~3 K, so do go take a look and say 'congratulations' on quite the first year to him.
Still processing those finale feels. Still editing chapter 5. In the meantime, I've got some stuff for you to go put on your reading lists!
It seems like only a few weeks ago that OnionPie was gearing-up to release his masterpiece, What Is Left, and I was one of several pre-readers who was contributing edits and suggestions. But apparently it's been more like 2 1/2 years, and now What Is Left is being featured by the Royal Canterlot Library.
So, first things first: the sixth Iota Force story's getting released:
However, rather than my previous habit of just saying so, joking about the awkwardness of doing so and passive-aggressively indicating how I think there should be notifications when a story gets a sequel, I thought I'd try something a bit different: a recommendation for something outside the Ponysphere.
