After the recent debacles going on in Ponyville, Sunset thought she had finally settled them and moved on to a more peaceful life. Of course, then comes a surprise from her mother. Two tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala. Ecstatic to go since she doesn't often get to, she has to choose which friend to bring.

... If only she didn't have so many friends to choose from.

Spitfire has always wanted to be a Wonderbolt and fight Equestria's enemies for glory and recognition. Now's her chance, but it doesn't turn out the way she would have thought it would to her chagrin.

Sunset and the others have been trying to live at least somewhat peacefully after the events prior. However, it seems fate doesn't want to let up. Ponies are going missing in and around Ponyville and a new Inquisitor has been sent in to oversee the town's defenses.

As well, a griffin and his apprentice have set up roots in Ponyville as of late and there are growing suspicions abound on them. Are they at fault or is there something else going on?

For every world in the universe, there are several vastly different ones connected to them. For the most part, they are kept separate. The creatures and things that dwelled within them go on about their lives like nothing's wrong. {Unless some villain or monster shows up, but that's local stuff.}

Now two universes are about to emerge. It's not because of some evil plan, or diabolical political move....

Of course, raising a completely different species that is renowned for mischief is not easy. Not to mention the danger of being exposed to too much cuteness.

This story takes place during the events of A Different Sunset after chapter 7.

While the Elements bearers discovered themselves and fought Nightmare Moon head on, the brave citizens of Ponyville armed themselves against the dark goddess's evil army.

Equestria: The shining beacon of peace and harmony in a world torn by war. The citizens are safe and secure within the borders.

However, a darkness is coming. Sunset Shimmer, daughter of Celestia, fears the return of the goddess of the night herself: Nightmare Moon. A mare who wishes nothing more than the destruction of everything good. Sunset will do anything to stop her.....
...Even if that means hanging out with other ponies.

I know you all have seen your fair shair of Alt-universes, starring a different main six. I know this, but I couldn't get the thought of trying my own hand in the concept.
{I'm also hoping I live up to the standard set by my predecessors.}
I shall call my 'verse, "The Shimmerverse"....Genius!
