Spitfire has always wanted to be a Wonderbolt and fight Equestria's enemies for glory and recognition. Now's her chance, but it doesn't turn out the way she would have thought it would to her chagrin.

Great work on this chapter. This reminds me of one of the World of Warcraft animated shorts, except the hero did the right thing and protected innocent lives.

Also,
Breathing fire. Taking a huge breathe, Spitfire, living up to her namesake, unleashed her fiery temper upon the two dogs

Thanks for the feedback. I'll check that out.

So, is there something wrong with the spelling or you just thought that was a surprising moment?

I didn't know Pegasi could breath fire.

edit, I just look the Shimmerverse Forum on Pegasi. Never mind.

Aside from the little nitpick-y things like

"For generation after generation, they have flown over the battlefields and wreaked havoc upon enemy ground and air forces alike."

instead of 'generation after generation' or 'for generations' and when you used breeeathe instead of breathhh

"Taking a huge breathe, Spitfire, living up to her namesake, unleashed her fiery temper upon the two dogs."

the story was pretty nice.

I was kinda bothered by Spitfire's short sighted vision of 'glory', I thought rescuing and escorting a dozen little ponies to safety was glorious in its own right but it makes sense that she would think like that.

The idea of pegasi manipulating the elements is kinda cool though, so thanks for the read!

So if Pegasai have have natural control of the elements, and Unicorns have fire blood elementals.

Do earth ponies have any elemental power?

You're more likely to find them as Druids as they have a stronger tie to magic, although there are some blood elementals and those that can use the elements. They aren't that common amongst earth ponies though, the same with Druidery being uncommon amongst the other two tribes.

Interesting. Since this seems set in the past, I wonder what that little colt grew up to do.
