With both the recent dragon attack and Nightmare Moon plaguing the town, Rumble just wants to have some peace. Yet when one of his schoolyard bullies get her cutie mark before him, he decides that peace can wait. Rumble is determined to do whatever it takes to get a cutie mark so they can't get to him.

Oh, I love the crushes in this chapter. It makes you wonder why they never thought of something this clever for say, Diamond Tiara and Big Mac. I bet Scootaloo is going to be following Thunderlane around on her scooter, watching his every move, and she's going to be outraged when she finds out about Rarity. Carousel Boutique is going to get vandalized!
Ahh, now I feel sorry for Strike. He's this universe's version of Twist, which means Rumble will soon get two cooler friends and forget Strike exists.

A great chapter. Flitter is as protective as Momma-Applejack ever was to Apple Bloom, and we get to see that Scootaloo isn't a two-dimensional bully here any more than Diamond Tiara is. Now I wonder more about the feud between Rumble and Night Watch, how that happened.
Great wrap up! I like that the CMC here are slightly different in purpose. They're not looking so much for what they want to do (Rumble knows he wants to be a guard), but rather how to get there. I suspect these three will definitely not end up with a shared cutie mark.

Lastly, yeah. As I've said before, the CMC are my least favored of the main cast so I was hoping to fix some issues and such I have with their episodes here. Hopefully, I did it in a enjoyable way.
7404929 The fact that it seems like Apple Bloom already wants to be a doctor and DT wants to be a businessmare (I'm guessing that's what she means by rich pony) indicates this CMC will be much more likely to begin focusing with "Sunset Time," and less likely to be covered in tree sap.
Celestia reading her sister friendship letters is a very clever way to end each episode. I kinda wish we could hear the letter, but I guess its not very important.
7405572 I'll try and see if I can write a letter. I wanted to write a letter each episode, but for some reason it proved to be a bit harder then I thought to put it down to words. So I figured I'd do my best to make the moral clear in the last chapter and have it end with Celestia relating it to her sister since I thought it would be a good way to establish closure.
Perhaps I'll be able to find a way to word the letter, like I did with Cute Trouble. But that mostly likely will be a small side chapter update if I ever get to it.
Good work, I like how you have a believable reason why Rumble go to the party with Strike. I kinda found it dumb that Apple Bloom never hanged out with Twist (As for as I know) after she became a part of the CMC.

To do something unique. I've seen stories that have the CMC switch places with DT and Silver Spoon, but I've never seen a story that only had one from each group take the other's place. Also, Scootaloo in Canon would probably have been a bully if she didn't get bullied herself. Think of Scoots as Babs Seed, except no one has ever tried to get back at her.
Looks like Scootaloo's dreams of romance were crushed before they began, unless of course Thunderlane saved Rarity during Nightmare Moon's attack, then they were crushed immediately before or after.

I always consered that getting a cutie mark at a young age was detrimemtal to a ponies life. after all if you find your special talent as a child it was probably doing a childish thing. Which would make it harder to fenangle it into a life purpose as an adult. (I get why the foals want it as soon as possible since it's an analogy for becoming an adult and every kid wants to be an adult, for usually childish reasons that have nothing with being an adult).
Any mark that a literal child gets will lead to extremly restrictive career options or can only be used as a hobby and unrelated to their carreer.
What's scootaloo going to do? Be a reckless uber eats delivery pony?
