I really love to have stark contrasts to canon Twilight especially since she could be... frustrating in earlier seasons. Here I wanted Sunset to be different. She would be more prone to spotting a problem and having Spike much more mature as well as giving a solution, combine it with Sunset not being good with friendship and you have a different approach that is fresh with sort of the same results.
I feel bad for Sunset, all of her friends have reason for wanting that extra ticket. And know her friends (and how this universe work), this will lead to insane yet enjoyable shenanigans.
