It had seemed like a good idea at the time, until Sunset actually read what Twilight wrote in her letter. She'd already said yes to seeing Celestia again, and she wouldn't go back on her word. As long as she remained convinced that this was a good idea and that it would all end well, she could get through it without a problem.

After a hectic time travel loop and saw the strangest things that she'll ever see, Twilight thought she can relax and show her new friend; Starlight Glimmer, around the castle. However, as they were taking the tour, Starlight notice one of the books were flashing. Soon, Twilight realize that her friends from another world was needing her help and try to call for her.

You can consider this to be a prequel to 2nd Weirdest Thing.

Sunset Shimmer didn't think twice about the assignment from her literature teacher, Mr. Turner, to read and analyze 'Harrison Bergeron' - at least, until she actually read the story and found herself fascinated with the ideas it presents. Unable to settle her thoughts, she goes to class the next day brimming with questions, only to find that Mr. Turner has the day off, and their substitute is an unusual teacher named Starlight Glimmer.

I highly suggest that anyone who has not had a chance to read
Harrison Bergeron give it a read.

Princess Celestia saw Alan get turned to dust in the caves under Canterlot. She saw her former student Sunset Shimmer run through the magic mirror just before it closed. She now knows the possible danger Equestria is in. She found six bearers of the Elements of Harmony to help protect the land. The six helped save Equestria many times. But now, their biggest challenge is coming, and they're going to need all the help they can get. The mirror to other worlds is reopening, and nopony knows what's going to walk through.

What dangers will show themselves, and what secrets will finally be revealed?

Things have been going well for Sunset Shimmer since the Friendship Games. She's on good terms with the students at Canterlot High School, she has a close circle of friends she can depend on, and most of all, she now has a new friend and research partner in the form of the human world's Twilight Sparkle. With a brand new avenue in magical research now open to her, not even the prospect of her upcoming birthday can get in the way of her hope for the future.

Then her latest experiment blew up in her face.

Reduced to a mare in a child's body, Sunset has to find a way to reverse what she's done and return to what qualifies as normal in this world. But in a world where magic was a fairy tale until a few months ago, things are going to be more than a little difficult on that front. And as she struggles to maintain her adult mind against the immaturity of her current form, her friends are faced with the possibility that they may lose their friend forever.

Princess Celestia is worried about Sunset Shimmer. Her student seems to be slipping away from her.

Sunset doesn't understand why her mentor has given the task to learn about the Magic of Friendship. All she wants to do is learn about magic, and move onto higher level spells.

Princess Celestia is willing to do just about anything to keep Sunset Shimmer from giving up on her lessons, including telling her a secret she's kept for over 1000 years. But when the secret gets out, how will it affect Sunset, and how will it effect all of Equestria?

Princess Celestia is a proud mentor to an extraordinary filly.

That very filly has read all there was in the vast libraries of Canterlot, and is bored to death during lectures at the School for the Gifted Unicorns where she attends. She’s also destined to bear the Element of Magic, and one day, perhaps, even take Celestia’s place on the throne. She may have some rough edges, true, but Celestia is going to teach her the magic of friendship and the values that are important in life.

If only Sunset Shimmer could stop sabotaging her efforts wherever they go.
