It is the eve of the Summer Sun celebration, a tradition that has remained unchanged in Equestria for millennia. For Princess Luna it is one of the few things that goes exactly the same way it did before her exile, and she treats it with just as much respect as she once did. She also never had any doubts that her sister treated it the same way, even after a thousand years alone.

It is umpteenth anniversary of Twilight's coronation, but despite the cheering crowds, the new people she's met, and her loving mentor, she cannot fill the void that her friends left behind.

But maybe with the help of an invader, she doesn't need to.

(Haha, this is my first fic, and I was pretty naive to think that this was an original plot, but I for one put a lot of passion into this... at the time. Oh well.)

However, along the road, Twilight became an alicorn, and therefor, immortal. It is roughly 80 years after their battle with Tirek and all of her friends have passed. The young alicorn, well relatively young, now struggles to cope with the loss of her friends. Can anyone help her through this depression?

Inspired by Black Gryph0n and Baasik's "Faster Than You Know"

"We were so used to them wreaking havoc and walking away from the most ridiculous wreckages that it was easy to forget they weren't invincible. Fate was a cruel mistress to take one of them from us at such a young age...

I was fortunate, but somepony close to me was not. It was hard for me to imagine the loss she felt. It was so difficult. I wish there was more I could have done to comfort her, but my attention was focused elsewhere. Sweetie Belle lost one of her closest friends and she needed me to guide her through the grief and chase away the occasional nightmare. I devoted so much of my time to her that I dared not acknowledge the plague of strange happenings that fell upon Ponyville soon after the accident.

I was such a foolish mare..."
