A terrible loss has been averted, but even that has a price.

Between the disappearance of several hundred ponies from around the world, strange portals leading to alternate versions of Equestria, an unknown alicorn frequenting Ponyville for secretive reasons, and the arrival of a new race of ponies bringing some ulterior motives, the pieces sowed by Twilight’s fight with the Nameless are set to crash back down.

What happens when friendship fails? Who will take Twilight’s place within the grave?

The Crystal Ball Trilogy is a series of stories which deal with time travel, parallel universes, and other manipulations of time and space. Substitute is the middle story; it is preceded by Feedback and is succeeded by Divergence.

Not even twenty-four hours and Starlight Glimmer has already been forgiven for her acts. Even though she and Twilight have become friends, the unicorn has not told the princess her true pain of her past and why she truly hated cutie marks.

It was more than Sunburst leaving and not returning... Much more than that...

Note to readers: If anything happens during the show that may or does retcon any of my stories will not cause me to change any of my original ideas to any of my fan fictions.

About season 6 premiere: Season 6 may have already have Sunburst's and Starlight Glimmer's friendship issue solved, I think the writers for the show could have gone about it differently. But hey, I still liked it anyways.

Starlight Glimmer had a painful fall, but she is more than determined to finish what she started. The message of Equality needs to spread across Equestria, and she knows just the mares who can help her...no matter how many years it takes.

But she soon finds out that raising six fillies that still represent the Elements of Harmony is easier said than done.

Starlight Glimmer agrees to help Fluttershy with her animals while she at the spa, but she struggles to handle her duties all by herself. Discord tries to get Starlight to admit that certain words can eventually have some type of moral.

Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer and Twilight Sparkle all decide to have a friendly magic duel. It sounds innocent but when a spell goes horribly wrong the three find themselves in the other's hooves, literally. While trying to find a counterspell they have to deal with their new bodies, and learn a little bit about themselves along the way. What was going to be a day of fun competition soon turned into a mess of self discovery and revelations. Though as they say, what does not kill you can only make you stronger. Although no one said it was easy.

Slight shipping involved towards the end. Hence the romance tag.
