As you are probably all aware, I am currently working on Divergence and I am also working on getting Substitute into a state where it can be made into a book. For the latter, especially, I am making sure that all parts of the story are of quality and am expanding and contracting stuff as necessary.

I just wanted to let you know that I made an e-book version of this story available. And by e-book, I mean a pdf that you can download. Fimfiction has a built-in epub thingy but it doesn't look as nice and, more importantly, it loses a lot of the formatting (especially italics, which you readers of Substitute may know is of some significance).
Well, not really. But kinda.
Some of you know that I have been working on this story:
Well, as of today, Sunset Shimmer, the one who we have followed as she has dealt with crystal balls and unponies, has made her first appearance in that story and will be one of the main characters from here on out.
Well, since it was suggested during the last one that I do another one of these and, with Substitute being complete, I would imagine that there are questions after those crazy last few chapters, so I'm giving this another go!

Well, here we are again. We’ve reached the end of Substitute.
I think it’s time for another post-script. I want to take a few moments to talk about Substitute’s development cycle. I think, this time, I’m going to have much more to talk about, since this story actually managed to be so many things before it took on its final form. I also think that there’s more interesting stuff to talk about now.
There are, obviously, major unmarked spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned!
I just finished drafting it.
After thirteen months of writing, I've written the last word for Substitute. The draft is complete.
...Wow. I mean, it hasn't quite sunk in yet. I can't believe I finished it. I finally finished it. I mean, sure, it took several months longer than what I intended but, wow. I finished it.
I had a realization earlier today; I don't look at my notes for Substitute anymore.
As you all can imagine, when you start out on a story like this, you make notes. You make quite a few notes.
I mean, after all, complicated time and space doesn't just happen out of the blue. It does require some thought, and it does require some coordination. So I had a bunch of written notes that helps me piece all of this together.
I just crossed it.
Work on Substitute continues slowly, but steadily. As far as drafting goes, I am in the home stretch, I think. Probably a little less than that but, still. Nonetheless, I've reached a milestone!
As of a few moments ago, the total draft for Substitute reached 100,000 words!
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Ask Me Anything. Or the AMA. I think that’s how this works. I’ve compiled your questions and I think this is going to be a good time. I’m going to have quite a bit of fun with it, myself.

I’ve never done anything like this before but doing an AMA seems like a somewhat interesting idea. I’ve seen other people do it and I figured that if I wanted to do something like that, this point in the story would be the most opportune time.

I am surprised that no one said anything. Minor spoilers for chapter seven.
“Ghastly Gorge,” Rarity replied.
“Oh hey!” Rainbow Dash gasped. “My two stones were around there. Hah! How about that!”
I was sure that these lines would at least turn one or two heads, but that didn't happen. So good job everypony on getting this.
I'll get right to this one: I'm slating chapter seven to come out next week.
You may have seen an earlier blog post concerning the completion of chapter seven. It is quite long, in my opinion, even in relation to thus-far published chapters. Thus I am going to split the chapter into two parts.
A few days ago I spoke of the critical point of the story. I return now with not just one but two pieces of news.
Firstly, I have finished the critical point scene. And it turned out very well, I think. I nearly fried my brain a few times as I wrote it, but hot damn was it worth it. Besides, 3,000 words in two days is fairly impressive.
I'm officially in the endgame now, I think!
Well, I'm reaching the later stages of the story now. Drafting is going very well but as many of you can imagine with a story such as this, there are many particulars to consider when even writing one scene. Have to make sure all the puzzle pieces are shaped the right way, after all. I would attribute that as one of the reasons why I don't write as fast as many others on the site.
