Twilight was invited by Sunset to visit her over the summer for study reasons. Adagio finds out Twilight is in their world again, along with Sunset, and needs to seek revenge on them both. When they are kidnapped on but Twilight's first night, the human five decide to seek help from the pony five. And along that, an Alternate Twilight is learning more and more about the secrets of Canterlot High...

Update 1/12/18: I released an epilogue for the story. After a while I felt the story wasn’t finished quite how I wanted it to be. It’s short and sweet.

After suffering from a recurring nightmare, Sunset Shimmer decides to go back to Equestria. There, she discovers that Twilight has been having similar dreams and that a mysterious dark force is at work in Equestria. Sunset, Twilight, and her friends are sent on a mission with the goal of bringing harmony to Equestria once and for all. (Human tag included solely for first chapter; pony all the way after that) (Light SunLight in later chapters)

Okay so maybe something odd happened that night, but It didn't change anything about Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer's friendship. Okay so maybe it did. Maybe they've become more than friends, and maybe they haven't told anyone.
Things are going fine. Twilight has to live in Equestria, of course, but Sunset has decided to stay. But then,
another Twilight shows up. And this one wants Sunset this much more.

Twilight needed to work on that counter spell. The fate of the whole world depended on it. So yea, she had to stay up all night if that's what it took. She went for a snack, but Pinkie Pie really didn't have that much of a variety, so she just sat down and stared at a blank paper. And then Sunset woke up. Maybe she could help Twilight with the spell. Or... since everybody else was sleeping...

Yes, there is a picture in here. It actually inspired the story when I got a bit stumped on it.

Sunset Shimmer and Princess Twilight Sparkle have both been plagued by odd dreams. Romantic escapades and tender moments between ponies they don't recognize that all end in tragedy.

Together, they investigate this phenomena, aware of the growing tug their hearts have for one another. The answers they find, however, may threaten to tear them apart.

A few hours after saving the Friendship Games, Sunset Shimmer and her good friend Twilight Sparkle are relaxing on the CHS lawn. The two are so close that Sunset finally feels like she can ask a question that's been on her mind for a while.

"Can I go home?"

Not long after the girls saved Camp Everfree and embraced their newfound magical abilities, Sunset Shimmer starts acting strangely. She jumps every time her friends get even remotely close to her and she keeps everyone at a distance. This is especially worrying to Twilight Sparkle, who seeks how to make her best friend feel better.
