Twilight Sparkle, personal student of Princess Celestia, is sent by her teacher to retrieve a very specific book from the Royal Library. The only problem is, she doesn't know what it's called or where to find it.
Fortunately for her, libraries are the most orderly, most mundane and certainly the safest of places one could possibly be. Or, so she thinks.
Twilight is about to find out how very strange the world of books can truly be.

The last day or two has certainly been eventful for young Twilight, and now that it's over she finds herself not only in a new home, but with five new friends to go with it. She's happy, to say the last, but she can't relax just yet. After all, she has an important job to do, and one for which she will soon find herself receiving a surprising, but not unwelcome guest.
May Flower once dreamt that a pure heart could change the world for the better. Now, she reflects on the life she lived, the beliefs she stood for, and the choices she made at the princess's side. Despite everything she's done, every step she's taken along the way, and every right answer she's ever given, her dream has failed.
It was dark. Somewhere, beyond the cave, beyond her cage, it was raining. And the tide was coming in.

Princess Celestia, in her infinite wisdom, comes to the conclusion that she doesn't have anywhere near enough time to do everything on her busy schedule. Not a problem for her, though. The solution to having no time is obvious: just make some more.
A thousand years is a long time for sisters to be apart. Celestia begins to feel again with a part of her heart that went numb all those night ago, but her little sister's return feels almost too good to be true. Luna may feel insecure in an Equestria different than the one she remembered but she now knows how much Celestia missed her...and how much she missed her big sister.
