In a quiet corner of a nondescript pocket dimension, somewhere adjacent (and slightly to the left) of an unfathomable writhing tempest of antimatter, between an Ikea and the caged spirit of Asmodeus, exists a draconequus. He has thoughts he needs to put down onto paper, some strongly worded thoughts for an irksome purple princess.

There's few better ways for Twilight Sparkle to spend a lazy weekend afternoon than propped up against the pillows on her bed, with her girlfriend resting on her body and reading her a story. Sure, she may have left her glasses out of reach, but that hardly matters when all her sensations are focused on Sunset's voice and body anyway.

Of course, Sunset might have an easier time reading if her partner would stop giving her little teases. But where's the fun in that?

This story is a sequel to Ice

Twilight, Spike and Discord are on Earth. Our Earth. The low-magic planet where humans come in only a few skin colors, don't pony-up or wear clothes with cutie marks, and think that every creature they see that isn't human is either a non-sapient animal, some kind of monster, or both.

The portal they came through is broken, the exit having separated from the entrance by many, many miles. Their own Equestrian magic has drained away. There's very little magic for them to absorb on Earth. To survive the harsh conditions they're flung into without their magic, and to survive encounters with the paranoid natives of the world who see strange animals as something to exploit or to fear, they're going to have to work together.

Set in Season 7 sometime. Expansion of "Ice", and "Ocean" from "Eating Dessert First".

Fluttershy is going to die one day. So will the rest of Discord's friends - he knows this, and is incredibly unhappy about it.

The time comes and goes and the world ends. Then Discord meets a young dragon girl with yellow scales and pink spines, and the world begins again. And again and again and again...

Teen for mentions of sex and death, but nothing graphic.

When Discord told Fluttershy that he loved her, he meant that he loved her forever. A beautiful, if fanciful sentiment to most. To a being like Discord, it's a very real promise. For one of them, forever is a very real thing, and an impossibility for the other. But Discord is a master of the impossible. It's his gift. And his curse.

"Beyond the fact that this is excellently written, it's a crossroads where sweet meets hellish. So many stories confront Twilight outliving her friends. Few if any ask, 'But what if Fluttershy outlives them all?' And I stress all. Part of why this story hits so well is that I've seen two diametrically opposed readings of it and it manages to support both at the same time. On one hand, it's a poignant and tragic love story as Discord desperately tries to keep his love alive and she fights back with just as much force to have him accept the inevitable. On the other hand, it's showing the most toxic relationship possible as Discord forces Fluttershy to endure it all - even as she begs him to stop - because he can't deal with not having her in his life. I know my read on the story, but it's fascinating that it manages to be both a beautiful romance and a relationship horror story all at once. You've been the only human in Equestria for some time now. However, it wasn't until this morning that your good friend Twilight suggested you take a peek through the Crystal Mirror. Supposedly, there is another world on the other side of that mirror populated by humans just like you.

She conveniently left out the fact that she herself turns into a human when she passes through it.

In hindsight, you probably should have seen this coming.

The fabric of reality is currently undergoing maintenance, leaving Anon, Anon, and... a lot of other Anons trapped in a white void. With no other ways to kill time, their only means of entertainment while they wait to be returned to their worlds is each other.

What do Anons even do in their spare time?

Anon has been living comfortably in Ponyville for a while now, but the novelty has been wearing off, and now he misses many of the entertainment options he had back home. He brings this up to Twilight, and together they arrange for a game night with her friends to try and make Anon feel more at home.

Unfortunately, Anon forgot just how badly human board games can strain or break even the toughest of friendships.
