Starlight Glimmer, newly reformed pony and student of Twilight, finds herself in the home of Discord. She doesn't know why she's there or what he's going to do to her. All she can do is wait and talk as the spirit slowly ticks down to his final decision.

Ponies even after her defeat still have a somewhat negative impression of Starlight Glimmer, Glimmer wants to fix this and show them that they can trust her and that she is a whole different pony, and with the help of her new friends maybe she can.

Starlight Glimmer has been living with Twilight in the weeks since the whole time travel incident. Twilight went to Canterlot for a couple of days so Starlight used this time to sort through some of her feelings and think about how things will be going forwards. But no matter how she tries there's one question she can't quite understand. How did she change my mind when nopony else could?

Starlight Glimmer hears an unusual and mocking voice while fleeing from her old home. Much to her dismay, the voice might hold the key to escaping the dry, brutal desert and she'll need to listen up in order to make it out alive. However, the voice has more to say than just general advice to Starlight.

Does the voice have her best interests at heart? Can Starlight find a fix to her struggles?

Starlight Glimmer discovers inequality at a very young age when her family can not afford the fee for her to apply for Celestia's school. She uses unconventional methods to gain entry but eventually gets expelled and banished from Canterlot. When she discovers who her true ancestors are, she realizes that her true destiny is more than bringing about friendship through sameness, it is something much bigger.

Equestria has recently split into two nations, West Equestria and East Equestria. Unfortunately for West Equestria, most of the wealth and The Tree of Harmony lies in East Equestria. Deteriorating economic conditions leads to public unrest and two princesses abdicate, leaving one to rule the land. Is her magic strong enough to keep the country afloat or will it revert to an earlier state?

Parts of this story will be told by the character that the chapter focuses on.

When Starlight Glimmer escaped capture, everything that could've gone wrong did, in fact, go horribly wrong. Now, with a fatal wound and an indefinite time to live, an unlikely—and hideously unwanted—savior finds her.

The good news? She needs only to solve a riddle she's never heard before she bleeds out.

The bad news... well...

Rated 'Teen' for intensity and slight gore.

I only want to help ponies. Twilight had it all wrong about me. Yes, I stole her and her friend's cutie marks, but nopony else's before that. I ran a town of happy ponies. But in the end, I deluded myself. Choice is important in equalization therapy. I've set up practice, under the radar, in Canterlot, where plenty of ponies have trouble dealing with life. Problem is, my reputation proceeds me. And today, it looks like somepony wants me to help him help his "friend," and not in a good way. Sometimes it seems my life is filled with burnt hay burgers.

This story follows show canon only through the season 6 season opener.
