A reboot of Waking Nightmares, taking the story in a different direction.

Celestia has been suffering from nightmares and her sister Luna cannot seem to stop them. Alongside this, the dreaded Queen Chrysalis has been caught and is finally standing trial, several world leaders attending to help decide her fate. On top of all this, nine ponies and a dragon have appeared, claiming to have been transformed and sent to Equestria by an insane wizard.

What else can go wrong?

A teenage boy with a broken heart and a lonely bully with a hole in her own cross paths.

This is a humanized Spike x Diamond Tiara story in which both characters are aged up. Spike being 19, and Tiara being 17.

In an alternate take on the ending of Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, Sunset Shimmer gains a pair of wings, she and Twilight realizing she's become an alicorn. But more has happened now. Because of Sunset Shimmer's ascension, magic, once thought non-existent in that world, starts to awaken as more and more gain the ability to use magic. And meanwhile, a shadowy force that once was the servant of a blank-faced nightmare begins to revive...

Takes place in the Waking Nightmares universe, starting two years before it and then with a couple of timeskips to get to the beginning of the Waking Nightmares timeline.

So, you want to hear my story, eh? The honest-to-goodness truth of how I become what I am today? You want to hear of the events, that changed not only my, but many other lives? I warn you now, it is not a pretty story. It is filled with bloodshed, with anger and with pain. It is a story of violence and death, of overcoming obstacles that nopony should ever encounter. But it also is a story of good, a story of hope. For even in the shadows of an evil older than the Royal Princesses themselves, even in a world that does not know harmony there is still hope. It guides you when you’re lost, comforts you when you’re scared, it is a light in the dark of night and a cool shadow in a sun-burned desert.

Story written in Spike’s POV. Humanized (eventually) cast. A crossover with Pathfinder’s Rise of the Runelords adventure path. While based for the most part on the actual path, it will contain original personal storylines and it will explore the concept of a pony (herbivore) becoming a human(oid) (omnivore) and the possibilities/downsides it contains.

King Sombra’s dark influence was obliterated by the Crystal Heart, and the villain is well and truly dead. But when he attempts to steal the afterlife of an innocent victim, a human spirit is left hurtling towards Equestria, where this unfortunate soul is revived into the only vessel available: the reconstituted body of King Sombra himself.

Thus, a cheerfully oblivious alien is crammed into the form of the most evil and malicious being Equestria has ever known. Not that Shining Armor and Cadence know this, of course. As far as they are concerned, the King is back and he’s lost his fricking mind.

Sitting outside in the quiet night, in a small clearing by Sweet Apple Acres, Spike relives the best moments of his life: the moments which he spent with his beloved, Applejack. As the rain falls around him, he contemplates his own existence, realising he has many years to go before he is finally reunited with his beloved mare.

Seriously guys, go check him and his channel out! Even if fan fic readings aren't your 'thing', it was certainly a pleasure to listen to.

It's been a few years, but it finally happened. Rarity finally told him it just wasn't gong to work out. Now all Spike wants to do is sit in his room and wallow in his misery. Fortunately, Rainbow Dash has other ideas. After all, she needs a partner for the Equestrian Unity Challenge and he could use some time away from home.
